The Senior Finance Manager - Materials & Procurement is responsible for strengthening financial integrity and operational compliance across materials and inventory processes. The role focuses on three core areas: materials finance and compliance; SAP-enabled material and inventory flow with a strong understanding of cost accounting; and process discipline that ensures physical goods are received, stored, moved, consumed, and disposed of with appropriate controls and traceability.

The position partners with Finance, Materials Management, Operations, Procurement, IT, and Internal Audit to align physical goods, SAP inventory records, and financial reporting; implement practical controls and standard work; and drive timely closure of materials-related compliance and corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Standardize physical goods processes across sites-from receiving and storage through movement, consumption, returns, and disposition-with clear ownership, approvals, traceability, documentation, and user training.
  • Reconcile physical inventory, SAP quantities and values, and financial records; investigate discrepancies and coordinate corrective transactions and root cause resolution.
  • Partner with Materials and functional owners to execute cycle counts, physical inventories and fixed asset verifications, maintain accurate location and quantity records, and monitor process adherence and inventory accuracy.
  • Partner with Finance on month-end and quarter-end inventory and material reviews, including valuation, aging, excess and obsolete inventory, reconciliations, and support for journal entries and accruals.
  • Map end-to-end material flows in SAP and apply cost accounting knowledge to assess their impact on inventory valuation, work in process, expense recognition, and financial reporting.
  • Partner with Finance and IT to review SAP master data, valuation settings, and movement types, and support process improvements, transaction testing, and exception reporting.
  • Develop and maintain materials finance policies and controls covering inventory valuation, reconciliation, adjustments, disposition, approvals, and segregation of duties.
  • Support SOX and internal control requirements, maintain audit-ready evidence, and drive timely closure of audit findings and compliance actions through root cause analysis, remediation, and validation of control effectiveness.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in materials finance, inventory accounting, cost accounting, materials management, or related disciplines, with demonstrated responsibility for financial and operational controls.
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status

WE VALUE:

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field, with a strong foundation in inventory and cost accounting.
    • MBA, CPA, CMA, or related certification preferred.
    • Experience developing and implementing materials finance controls, inventory reconciliation processes, and standard work governing physical goods.
    • Experience managing materials-related audit findings, remediation plans, compliance reviews, and corrective action closure.
    • Strong understanding of inventory valuation, cost accounting, material movements, cycle counts, financial reconciliations, and the relationship between physical goods and financial records.
    • Experience working in regulated, manufacturing, technology, or high-growth environments preferred.
    • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC materials and inventory transactions, reporting, and their integration with financial and cost accounting processes.
