Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a Business Operations Specialist I to provide administrative and operational support across the organization. This is an entry-level generalist role for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to develop broad business operations experience in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
This role blends day-to-day administrative support with business operations activities such as maintaining organizational charts and team data, preparing reports and presentations, coordinating meetings and travel, managing shared information and documentation, and supporting special projects.
The ideal candidate is proactive, comfortable working across functions, and able to turn information into organized, accurate, and useful resources for the team.
Where You’ll Make an Impact
Business Operations & Organizational Support
- Maintain organizational charts, team directories, business records, trackers, and other operational information
- Collect and organize data and prepare reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and business materials
- Support recurring business processes, operational reviews, and special projects
- Identify opportunities to improve documentation, processes, and team organization
Administrative & Team Support
- Coordinate calendars, meetings, travel, conference rooms, and team activities
- Prepare meeting materials, track action items, and coordinate follow-up
- Support onboarding, office needs, purchasing, expenses, and other routine operational activities
- Partner across teams to proactively resolve administrative and logistical needs
Communications & Coordination
- Maintain Confluence pages, shared resources, and internal documentation
- Prepare and distribute team updates, reports, schedules, and organizational communications
- Coordinate logistics and materials for project reviews, leadership meetings, customer visits, and company events
- Ensure information is accurate, organized, accessible, and up to date
What It Takes
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, finance, project management, aerospace/aviation, spaceflight operations, engineering management, or a related discipline.
- 0-3 years of experience in administrative support, business operations, project coordination, office management, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to organize information and maintain accurate records, trackers, and documentation
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Comfort working with spreadsheets, reports, charts, presentations, and business data
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance
- Professional judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information
- A proactive, customer-service-oriented approach and willingness to support a variety of business needs
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Experience supporting engineering, aerospace, defense, technology, or government programs
- Experience administering Confluence or similar collaboration and knowledge-management platforms
- Experience coordinating executive meetings, project reviews, or customer engagements
- Experience supporting office operations, facilities activities, or employee engagement programs

Location: Rockville, MD
Base Salary: $65,000 - $80,000
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Quantum Space's total compensation package.
