QuantWare is a quantum hardware manufacturer and deep-tech company that designs and fabricates commercial quantum processing units (QPUs) and peripheral quantum components. Headquartered in Delft, Netherlands - operating as a spin-out from the QuTech research institute at TU Delft - the firm functions as an open-hardware provider, supplying off-the-shelf superconducting quantum chips for an international customer base.

About Us

QuantWare is building the world’s most powerful quantum processors to solve humanity's greatest challenges. We do this with our unique VIO™ technology, the only QPU architecture that breaks the hardware barriers that have held quantum computing back, unlocking the path to MegaQubit quantum processors.

With VIO, we are paving the way for the hyper-scale quantum computers that will change the world. And delivering on that vision demands people who don’t shy away from tackling the hardest challenges of our time. That’s where you come in!

As a Senior Process Integration Engineer, you will play a key role in translating new technologies and products from development into robust, scalable, and manufacturable processes. You will work closely with Engineering, R&D, Product, Operations, and Quality teams to develop, integrate, optimise, and release processes and products into manufacturing.

Your work will be essential in ensuring that new products and technologies can be reliably manufactured with the required performance, quality, and yield.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the integration and transfer of new products, processes and technologies from R&D into manufacturing.

  • Define and develop manufacturing process flows, process specifications and control strategies for new product introductions.

  • Work closely with R&D and cross-functional teams to ensure new products are designed and released with manufacturability, quality and scalability in mind.

  • Plan and execute process integration activities, including process development, qualification, validation, and release.

  • Identify, investigate and resolve process integration issues, yield losses, and technical anomalies.

  • Drive continuous process and yield improvements using structured problem-solving and data-driven approaches.

  • Support the transition and scaling of manufacturing capabilities, including the implementation of new equipment, automation, and MES systems.

  • Develop and maintain key process and quality documentation, including Process FMEAs, Control Plans, process specifications, work instructions and change control documentation.

  • Participate in and support technical review and decision-making processes, including Change Control Boards (CCB) and Material Review Boards (MRB).

  • Work with Operations and Manufacturing teams to establish stable, repeatable, and scalable manufacturing processes.

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers as the Process Integration team grows.

Your Profile

  • 4+ years of experience in Process Integration, Process Engineering, NPI, Yield Engineering, or a related engineering role.

  • A Master's or PhD degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.

  • Experience working in a semiconductor startup, microfabrication foundry, advanced manufacturing or other high-tech hardware environment.

  • Strong understanding of process development, process integration, qualification, and manufacturing transfer.

  • Experience with structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies, including RCA, FMEA, SPC, DOE or similar tools.

  • Experience in analysing process and manufacturing data to identify root causes and improve process performance and yield.

  • Familiarity with quality and manufacturing systems, including Control Plans, non-conformance management, change control and corrective/preventive actions.

  • Experience working in cross-functional environments involving R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality.

  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • Experience with semiconductor fabrication of superconducting devices or quantum technologies would be a nice to have.

Don't tick every box? Apply anyway. We know great candidates don't always follow a straight path, and we value diverse experience, perspectives, and ways of thinking. If this role excites you and you believe you can make an impact, we'd love to hear from you!

What We Offer:

At QuantWare, you’ll be part of a high-performing team of world-class experts in an ambitious, fast-moving environment. From day one, you’ll have the trust, tools, and support to do your best work. Here’s what you can expect:

Competitive salary - A salary that reflects the impact and importance of the role (and of course 8% holiday allowance)

Pension that’s built to last - A generous and future-proof pension plan that includes partner and dependent coverage.

Flexibility built on trust - We focus on outcomes. Work flexibly, in a hybrid setup, with an open vacation policy that lets you manage your time

Personal growth - We invest in your L&D, with a budget available to each team member, dependent on their individual ambitions, development needs, and performance

A connected team - We make space to celebrate wins together, with team events, offsites, and spontaneous moments that bring us closer

Diversity & Inclusion at QuantWare

We’re an ambitious company, not only for our goals but also to become an even more diverse and inclusive team. We know this helps us with better decisions, more innovation, and strengthens our culture. In particular, we’d love to see more women in the quantum industry!

So if you’re a female talent, excited about this opportunity but don’t meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply.

As part of our recruitment process, candidates may be required to undergo pre-employment screening.
