Role Summary:

The Director of Engineering will provide strategic and technical leadership for enterprise networking and cloud platform development. The role combines deep software engineering expertise, architecture ownership, platform strategy, project execution, and people leadership to deliver scalable and reliable networking products while building high-performing engineering teams.

17+ years of overall experience in software engineering and product development.

Significant experience in technical leadership, architecture, and engineering management.

Strong background in enterprise networking, WLAN, network management, or related technology domains.

Experience progressing through technical leadership and management roles, with responsibility for platform engineering and product delivery.

Experience developing and operating enterprise-grade networking or cloud-managed platforms.

Core Expertise: Deep embedded Linux build systems.

Own end-to-end project execution, including scope, schedule, resources, risks, issues, and stakeholder communication.Develop detailed project plans, schedules, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies based on effort estimates.Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to delivery milestones, quality standards, and development processes.Identify, communicate, and resolve project risks and technical dependencies proactively.Establish clear ownership of project tasks and ensure teams have the resources and tools required for successful delivery.Drive project decisions and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve business objectives

Buildroot, Yocto/OpenEmbedded, Makefiles, GNU Make, CMake, Bash scripting, cross-compilation toolchains (GCC/glibc/musl).

Hardware/Kernel: U-Boot, Device Tree (DTS/DTB), initramfs, Linux Kernel Board Support Packages (BSP), flashing/recovery procedures.

Why them: They are the "plumber." They know how to integrate upstream tar.gz source drops from Marvell into Mimosa build ecosystem.

AI Usage: This task can greatly benefit from AI but costs of creating this with AI can be high.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related engineering discipline.
