Ramsay Health Care is seeking an experienced Quality & Risk Manager to join Peninsula Private Hospital, a leading acute healthcare facility in Melbourne’s south-east. Working closely with the CEO, Director of Clinical Services and Executive Team, you’ll lead the hospital’s quality, risk, clinical governance and accreditation agenda, helping strengthen patient safety and drive continuous improvement. This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to influence meaningful change, support clinical excellence and make a real impact on patient care within a supportive and experienced leadership team.

What You’ll Do

As Quality & Risk Manager, you’ll be a key partner to the Executive and clinical leadership teams, providing the expertise, insight and leadership needed to strengthen quality, safety and clinical governance across the hospital. You’ll have the opportunity to influence how the organisation manages risk, responds to incidents and continuously improves patient care.

  • Lead quality and clinical governance, fostering a strong culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Own the accreditation program, ensuring ongoing readiness and compliance with the NSQHS Standards.
  • Oversee clinical and non-clinical risk, identifying key risks and driving effective mitigation strategies.
  • Lead incident and adverse event management, ensuring investigations are thorough and focused on learning and improvement.
  • Analyse quality and clinical data, turning indicators and insights into practical actions that improve patient outcomes.
  • Partner with clinical and operational leaders to strengthen quality, safety and care delivery across the hospital.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures and quality systems, ensuring alignment with legislation, standards and best practice.
  • Provide clear reporting and advice to the Executive and relevant committees, supporting informed decision-making and sustainable improvement.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for an experienced healthcare professional with strong knowledge of quality, risk and clinical governance, together with the confidence to influence across a complex hospital environment.

You will bring:

  • Senior experience across quality, risk, clinical governance or patient safety within a healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of the NSQHS Standards, ideally within the private health sector.
  • Proven experience leading accreditation programs, including preparation, coordination and ongoing compliance.
  • Strong capability across clinical risk, incident management, adverse events and complaints.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify risks, develop mitigation strategies and drive quality improvement.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence clinical and operational leaders.
  • Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, audits and quality systems.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to turn complex information into clear insights and action.
