Frances Perry House is a leading private maternity and women’s health hospital in Melbourne. The hospital accommodates 93 beds including surgical and maternity units, Level 4 Special Care Nursery, 6 birthing suites, 4 operating theatres, a day surgery unit and urodynamics procedure room. As a fully accredited health care facility we offer the highest standards of clinical care, patient service, and technology.
Frances Perry House's theatre department is looking for a bookings officer! Join our administrative team in a casual position.
About the Role
You will be responsible for liaising with surgeons consulting suites, pathology providers and all members of the theatre team.
The successful candidate will be able to build relationships, engage and ensure open communication, be flexible, able to think on the run and manage numerous tasks at once.
What You’ll Bring
You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and should be comfortable working in a team of doctors, nurses, medical professionals, administrators and non-clinical staff.
This role will suit an individual with proven medical administration experience.
- Intermediate-advanced skills utilising the Microsoft office suite with ability to maintain data entry accuracy
- Previous experience in theatre or hospital bookings (highly desirable)
- Experience using Patient Information Systems (highly desirable i.e. Meditech)
- Certificate in Medical Terminology (Desirable)
- Experience in hospital mainframe systems (Desirable)
- A professional phone manner with experience managing incoming and outgoing calls
- Proven ability to work in a customer service focused environment

- Experience with handling personal/sensitive information and patient confidentiality
