Data Engineer

Our client, is seeking an experienced, highly technical Data Engineer to join their MarTech and Brand Technology engineering group.

In this hands-on engineering role, you will play a key part in designing, building, modernizing, and maintaining production data pipelines within an enterprise cloud data ecosystem. Working in a full DevOps model, you will leverage Azure, Azure Databricks, Snowflake, and Delta Live Tables (DLT) to construct scalable pipelines, manage Medallion Architecture layers (Bronze, Silver, Gold), enforce Unity Catalog governance, and publish secure data views. You will partner with cross-functional engineering teams to automate CI/CD deployments, enforce PII data security standards, optimize platform performance, and participate in production monitoring and support rotations.

Duration: 12-Month Contract (Full 1-Year Engagement)

Responsibilities
Pipeline Engineering & Modernization: Design, build, and maintain enterprise data pipelines on Azure, Azure Databricks, and Snowflake, leveraging Delta Live Tables (DLT) and Medallion Architecture principles.

Data Publishing & Security: Create secure data views and publish curated datasets to the Enterprise Data Exchange via Snowflake while enforcing strict PII encryption and masking standards.

Data Governance & Cataloging: Implement data governance, lineage, and access controls using Databricks Unity Catalog.

DevOps & CI/CD Operations: Utilize Azure DevOps and Repos for automated CI/CD pipeline deployments; write and manage Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / ARM templates).

Production Support & Monitoring: Participate in production release cadences, system monitoring, incident triage, and on-call escalation rotations to ensure platform stability.

Agile Alignment & Knowledge Sharing: Participate in Agile ceremonies, maintain comprehensive technical documentation, and mentor peer engineers within the Community of Practice.



Qualifications
Data Engineering Experience: 5+ years of dedicated professional experience in data engineering and cloud data platform delivery.

Core Platform Mastery: Proven hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure Storage Accounts.

Modern Architecture & Transformation: Demonstrated experience working with dbt, Delta Live Tables (DLT), and Medallion Architecture patterns.

CI/CD & Infrastructure as Code: Strong understanding of CI/CD principles using Azure DevOps, with experience or exposure to Terraform or ARM templates.

DevOps & Operations Mindset: Experience supporting production deployments, system outages, incident escalations, and operational monitoring.

Agile & Work Management: Hands-on experience utilizing task and bug-tracking systems such as Jira in an Agile environment.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Architecture, or equivalent practical industry experience.

Preferred Assets & Nice-to-Haves
Active Microsoft Azure Certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate / DP-203).
