Senior Developer Apigee Platform

We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Developer & Technical Lead specializing in enterprise API Management solutions for a prominent leader in North America's financial and technology services domain. In this role, you will serve as the core technical cornerstone within the platform team, bridging the gap between solution design, development execution, business direction, and enterprise-level platform vendors. You will play a pivotal role in evolving digital integration channels, driving technical standardizations, and steering a talented group of developers towards engineering excellence.

Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership: Mentor and direct everyday developer operations, establish best-in-class API integration policies, perform deep code reviews, and resolve complex technical blockers.

Architecture Translation: Partner with principal architects to evaluate solution feasibility, address technical constraints, and transform high-level designs into concrete development workflows.

Agile Execution: Collaborate with product teams to estimate effort, refine backlogs, manage technical risk, and actively steer sprint delivery cycles.

Platform Operations: Build, optimize, and maintain API gateways, policy definitions, custom routing rules, and authentication flows, coordinating directly with vendor support when resolving tier-3 escalations.

Continuous Enhancement: Champion enterprise security guidelines, refine CI/CD automated deployment pipelines, minimize technical debt, and contribute directly to long-term digital roadmaps.

Qualifications
API Management Mastery: Extensive expertise architecting, configuring, and maintaining modern API proxies, policy enforcement mechanisms, and gateway security controls using Apigee.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficient in provisioning and managing cloud integration infrastructure using Terraform.

Modern Integration Stack: Hands-on proficiency with RESTful architectures, JSON, TypeScript, HTTP standards, secure authentication protocols, and modern DevOps practices.

Technical Guidance: Solid background leading software engineering teams, delivering actionable architectural feedback, and articulating intricate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Analytical Mindset: Over 10 years of software engineering experience with demonstrated skill in evaluating solutions, analyzing root causes, and applying appropriate fixes via configuration or code.

Assets: Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystems, DevSecOps paradigms, and enterprise-wide API governance framework design.

Our client operates in Canada. The company takes all reasonable steps to limit the number of positions in Quebec that require knowledge of a language other than French, and only requires it when necessary and its existing bilingual employees are unable to perform these duties. Based on an assessment conducted by our client, it has been determined that this position requires candidates to be fluent in English (both spoken and written). In particular, this position will require the employee to interact with centralized internal departments (e.g., Operations / HR / Finance / Legal / Contracts / Sales) that support the organization in Canada and that do not speak French.
