Technical Project Manager

Job Description :

We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead enterprise application and platform delivery initiatives across distributed technology teams. The role will be responsible for driving end-to-end project execution, coordinating onsite-offshore teams, managing customer governance, and ensuring predictable delivery with strong focus on quality, transparency, risk management, and technical alignment.

This is a technical delivery leadership role, not a traditional operations or people-management position. The ideal candidate should have started their career in a hands-on technical role and progressively moved into technical leadership, project management, or delivery management. They should be comfortable working with Architects, Developers, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure, Service Management, and customer stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise applications, platform services, and technology initiatives from planning through implementation and closure.

- Define project objectives, scope, milestones, delivery plans, dependencies, and governance mechanisms.

- Coordinate execution across onsite-offshore and geographically distributed teams.

- Work closely with Architects, Developers, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Service Management teams to drive technical delivery.

- Track project progress, delivery commitments, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and resource requirements.

- Establish and maintain effective project governance, delivery reporting, dashboards, RAID logs, and review mechanisms.

- Act as a key customer-facing contact for project status, delivery commitments, escalations, risks, and technical discussions.

- Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations and project updates to customers and senior leadership.

- Proactively identify delivery risks and bottlenecks and drive mitigation and resolution plans.

- Coordinate release planning, deployment readiness, production transition, and go-live activities.

- Manage scope changes, dependencies, priorities, and delivery commitments throughout the project lifecycle.

- Drive transparency across project health, timelines, quality, risks, issues, and key decisions.

- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, governance reviews, technical discussions, and project planning sessions.

- Ensure projects follow appropriate SDLC, Agile, delivery, quality, and governance practices.

- Collaborate with service management and support teams to ensure effective transition and post-production stabilization.

- Support continuous improvement of project delivery processes, reporting, governance, and execution practices.

- Provide technical leadership and delivery guidance while ensuring alignment between business objectives and engineering execution.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 12 - 15 years of overall IT experience, including 8+ years in project delivery, technical delivery management, application delivery/support management, or customer-facing technology roles.

- Must have started the career in a hands-on technical role such as Software Developer, DevOps Engineer, Automation Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar.

- Progressive experience moving into technical leadership, project management, program delivery, or delivery management responsibilities.

- Strong understanding of enterprise application and technology delivery lifecycles.

- Experience managing distributed and onsite-offshore teams.

- Proven experience in customer governance, stakeholder management, executive communication, and delivery reporting.

- Strong experience in risk, issue, dependency, change, release, and escalation management.

- Hands-on experience with project and delivery tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps (ADO).

- Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate project status, risks, decisions, and technical topics to senior stakeholders.

- Good technical understanding across software development, DevOps, QA, infrastructure, cloud, and service management.

- Ability to understand technical dependencies and facilitate effective decision-making without being limited to a purely project-administration role.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects toward predictable outcomes.

- Strong ownership and execution mindset with the ability to operate effectively in complex enterprise environments.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.

- PMP, PMI-ACP, or ITIL certification.

- Exposure to Agile, Scrum, hybrid delivery, and enterprise governance frameworks.
