Procurement Specialist - Packaging

As a result of continued growth, the South African subsidiary of an international packaging group is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to manage the sourcing and procurement of a wide range of packaging products from local and international manufacturing partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Source packaging products from approved manufacturing sites locally and globally.
• Evaluate quotations and negotiate competitive pricing.
• Optimise sourcing, production, and logistics costs.
• Process and manage purchase orders and supplier documentation.
• Monitor supplier performance and on-time deliveries.
• Maintain product master data and technical documentation on the ERP system.
• Ensure stock accuracy across warehouses and ERP records.
• Create and maintain product specifications, COC and DOC documents.
• Work closely with Sales on customer forecasts and demand planning.

• Play an active role in product and market development projects, helping to identify new packaging solutions, suppliers, and commercial opportunities that support business growth.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience in the packaging industry.
• Background in procurement, purchasing, estimating, production planning, quality assurance, supply chain, product development or sales support at a packaging company.
• Knowledge of flexible packaging will be advantageous.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
