SUMMARY:
About the Role
A leading mining equipment OEM is looking for a Junior Design Engineer for its Alrode engineering hub. You’ll start in 3D CAD draughting and grow into design, simulation and site work, with occasional visits to open-cast mines.
Key Responsibilities
- Create CAD drawings, manage PLM models and maintain Bills of Material
- Generate concepts, design and reverse engineer products
- Run FEA (plus DEM/MBD as needed) and interpret results for product optimisation
- Scan components on site (FARO laser scanning) and process point-cloud data
- Join sales on site visits as a technical advisor and help with presentations and simulation videos
- Support commissioning, troubleshooting and failure inspections
- Contribute to design reviews, ISO implementation and technical reports
POSITION INFO:
Requirements B.Eng in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering 0-3 years' experience (mining or design background is an advantage) Familiarity with CAD, with exposure to FEA\/CAE a plus Able to read and interpret technical drawings Proficient in Microsoft Office Team player, self-motivated and able to work independently Physically able to perform site duties Please note that if you have not been contacted within 2 weeks of application that it has been unsuccessful.
