Network Engineer (Tier 2)

Role Overview 

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to manage network design implementation, Tier 2 operational support, security compliance, and infrastructure project delivery. In this role, you will maintain high availability across core routing, switching, load balancing, and perimeter security while continuously optimizing operational workflows. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Network Implementation & Changes: Configure, test, and deploy standard LAN/WAN/VLAN changes using established playbooks. Execute scheduled maintenance windows, performance monitoring, and Change Requests (CRs) with clear rollback procedures. 
• Tier 2 Operations & Support: Triage network alerts, resolve Tier 2 incidents using structured troubleshooting models (OSI layer), conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and escalate to external vendors (Cisco TAC, F5, Checkpoint) when necessary. 
• Security & Compliance: Apply firewall policies, ACLs, and port security adhering to least-privilege principles. Execute routine firmware/OS patches to remediate CVEs, manage SSL/TLS certificate renewals, and maintain regulatory compliance. 
• Documentation & Governance: Maintain real-time topology diagrams, logical rack layouts, SOPs, and troubleshooting playbooks. Audit infrastructure baseline configurations and manage asset lifecycle/decommissioning. 
• Project Delivery & Collaboration: Provision network requirements (VLANs, routing, security rules) for cross-functional IT projects on schedule while enforcing project scope boundaries and change governance. Coordinate effectively with hardware and ISP vendors. 

Technical Requirements & Product Mastery 

• Routing & WAN: BGP, OSPF, enterprise WAN platforms, circuit health monitoring, and edge ISP routing. 
• Switching & HCI Underlay: Cisco Switch/Router, Cisco ACI, STP, Layer 2, Link Aggregation (LACP), and VLAN Trunking. 
• Perimeter Security & Firewalls: Checkpoint, NAT rules, IPSec VPN tunnels, traffic/threat logs, and standard ACLs. 
• Access Control & Security: 802.1X / MAB authentication troubleshooting, policy set updates, and port security. 
• Application Delivery: F5 load balancers (virtual servers, pools, health monitors, SSL/TLS profiles). 
• Diagnostic & Tools: Ping, Traceroute, nslookup, iperf, traffic analysis, and DNS/AD/Storage service mapping. 

Qualifications & Soft Skills 

• Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, network operations, or a similar enterprise infrastructure role. 
• Problem Solving: Data-driven troubleshooting approach with strong cognitive flexibility across enterprise infrastructure ecosystems. 
• Communication: Ability to articulate complex technical statuses and updates clearly to non-technical stakeholders. 
• Work Ethic & Collaboration: High operational reliability, clean shift handovers, process optimization mindset, and active teamwork under pressure.
