Mid Level Cloud Software Engineer

To support this mission, our Cyber Analytics team is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer (Full-Stack and AI) - Mid-Level to play a key role in building, optimizing, and deploying enterprise-scale, AI-enabled data processing and visualization systems.

In this role, you will support mission-critical federal customer environments operating across hybrid, on-premises, and multi-cloud (AWS/Azure GovCloud) ecosystems. You will contribute across the full software lifecycle-from developing scalable backend services and integrating modern Artificial Intelligence (AI/ML) workflows to building responsive, intuitive web user interfaces for analysts and end-users. Key Responsibilities

• Cloud & Microservices Development: Develop, test, and maintain highly available, secure microservices and cloud components across AWS and Microsoft Azure (GovCloud and commercial).
• Full-Stack & Web UI Engineering: Build modern, responsive Web User Interfaces (UIs) and data dashboards using frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js to deliver clear operational insights to analysts.
• AI & Machine Learning Integration: Integrate cognitive services, vector databases, and Large Language Models (LLMs)/Generative AI capabilities into data pipelines to support automated insight discovery.
• Data Pipeline Support: Assist in building and maintaining distributed data processing workflows and event-driven messaging systems to handle high-throughput cyber datasets.
• Cyber & Tooling Support: Collaborate with technical teams to analyze software behaviors, evaluate security features, and support the development of custom data extraction and recovery tools.
• DevSecOps & Automation: Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and participate in CI/CD pipeline automation and automated testing to ensure reliable deployment across secure environments.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior architects, data scientists, and federal stakeholders to translate user requirements into robust, deployable software features.

Required Experience/Clearance

• Security Clearance: Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical STEM discipline.
• Experience: 2+ years of progressive software development experience delivering scalable applications in operational or production environments.
• Backend Proficiency: Hands-on experience with core backend programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, or C/C++, along with scripting capabilities (Bash, PowerShell).
• Cloud Foundations: Practical experience deploying and interacting with cloud services within AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Core Software Concepts: Solid foundation in RESTful API development, relational/NoSQL databases, version control (Git), and software design principles.

Desired Experience

• Frontend Frameworks & Visualization: Hands-on experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript, state management libraries, or visualization tools (e.g., D3.js, Chart.js).
• AI/ML & LLM Frameworks: Exposure to integrating AI/ML workflows, natural language processing (NLP), or LLM orchestration libraries (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, PyTorch, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock).
• Containerization & Distributed Systems: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Elasticsearch, or Redis.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Exposure to Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure ARM/Bicep templates.
• Cyber & Protocol Analysis: Familiarity with network analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump) or basic operating system internals.
• Cloud Certifications: An associate-level cloud certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS Certified Developer, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate).
