Description

Redpath Australia is seeking an experienced Metalliferous Operations Manager with extensive underground mining experience to lead a portfolio of underground projects across Queensland. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for driving safe, profitable and high-performing operations while providing mentoring, support and governance to Project Managers and site leadership teams across multiple contracts. We are looking for a senior mining professional with a strong background in underground metalliferous operations and a proven ability to lead complex mining projects and client relationships.

Based on an 8/6 roster with flexibility to meet operational requirements, you will spend the majority of your time on site, building strong client relationships, supporting contract performance and acting as the key escalation point for operational issues. You will oversee major underground mining projects including mine development, production and ground support operations, ensuring Redpath's commitment to Safety First, Last and Always remains at the forefront of everything we do.

As part of one of the world's leading underground mining contractors, you'll join a global business with almost 10,000 employees and a reputation built on technical excellence, innovation and long-term client partnerships. In return, Redpath offers a competitive salary package, company-funded flights and accommodation when required, career development opportunities, salary continuance and life insurance, BUPA health insurance discounts, access to our Redzone rewards program, and industry-leading long service recognition payments of up to $20,000. This is a rare opportunity for an accomplished underground mining leader to make a significant impact on a growing portfolio while helping shape the future of Redpath's metalliferous mining operations.

  • Oversee recruitment, training and development of personnel across metalliferous operations.
  • Ensure projects comply with safety, quality, environmental and training requirements.
  • Provide timely and accurate operational and financial reporting.
  • Support project mobilisations, start-ups and operational transitions when required.
  • Manage floating site resources, including Utility Specialists and Graduate Engineers.
  • Drive innovation, continuous improvement and operational excellence across the business.
  • Promote Redpath's values, culture and reputation throughout the industry.

  • Strong commercial acumen and experience managing project profitability.
  • Experience leading high-performing operational teams.
  • Strong understanding of mining legislation, safety systems and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with tender preparation, contract management and client engagement.
