Technical Architect

We are looking for a hands-on Technical Lead Software Engineer to drive the development and enhancement of our Managed File Transfer platform. You will lead technical design and implementation, contribute to complex coding initiatives, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and highly available enterprise software solutions. The role combines hands-on software development, solution architecture, technical decision-making, and mentoring engineers across Agile teams.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java 11+, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
• Architect and build highly available, scalable, and high-performance SaaS applications.
• Drive technical design, code quality, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices-based applications.
• Contribute to full-stack development using React and modern web technologies.
• Design and optimise relational databases using SQL.
• Build, deploy, and maintain applications on AWS and cloud-native environments.
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and improve application performance and reliability.
• Mentor engineers, guide technical decisions, and collaborate with product and cross-functional teams.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, design discussions, and delivery.

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience in Java 11+ and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Spring MVC, Spring Data, Hibernate, and enterprise application development.
• Strong understanding of OOP, design patterns, and software architecture principles.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
• Experience with React and full-stack software development.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-based application architecture.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with automated unit and integration testing.
• Strong technical leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Experience building and supporting highly available, scalable production systems.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Managed File Transfer protocols such as SFTP, FTPS, AS2, or HTTPS.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on Java application development experience.
• 3+ years in a Senior Engineer, Technical Lead, or equivalent technical leadership role.
• Experience architecting, developing, and deploying applications on AWS.
• Proven experience delivering scalable enterprise software and leading technical initiatives.
