RELX is a British information and analytics group formed in 1993 through the merger of Reed International and the Dutch publisher Elsevier, and it has since converted a print publishing business into a subscription data company. It operates four divisions: Elsevier in scientific and medical research, risk analytics covering insurance and financial crime screening, legal information through LexisNexis, and the exhibitions business RX. Headquartered in London and listed in London, Amsterdam and New York, it derives the large majority of revenue from electronic products and analytics rather than print.

Are you an innovative person who want to be part of a fast growing team?

About our Team:

Elsevier Health applies innovation, facilitates insights, and helps drive more informed decision-making for our customers across global health. We support health providers by providing accessible, trusted evidence-based information; prepare more medical and nursing students with effective tools and resources; provide insights that help clinicians improve patient outcomes; and supports a more personalized and localized healthcare experience. All for the benefit of every patient.

About the Role:

The Medical Education Innovation & Commercial Manager is a pivotal role within Elsevier, driving the accelerated transformation of medical education portfolio from print to digital across Greater China. This role owns the end-to-end development, value proposition creation, solution design, and Go-To-Market (GTM) execution of innovative healthcare education products and services in collaboration with Elsevier and local partners. It focuses on preparing medical, nursing, and health professions students for successful careers, while driving commercial growth through digital-first strategies. The position requires close collaboration with global and local teams to identify and scale opportunities in medical and nursing education, aging population needs, and emerging healthcare workforce demands.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the digital transformation of Elsevier’s medical education business in Greater China, including print books in local langue, by redefining product portfolios, business models, and customer engagement strategies to align with market shifts.

  • Own the total education solution value proposition: design integrated digital/print offerings (e.g., adaptive learning platforms, AI-driven tools, training simulations) that address unmet needs in medical and nursing education.

  • Develop and execute GTM strategies for packaged education solutions, including pricing, partnerships, and sales enablement tools, ensuring alignment with global frameworks while tailoring approaches to local markets.

  • Identify and prioritize opportunities in high-growth areas through market analysis and stakeholder engagement and partnership development.

  • Collaborate closely with global product teams to localize digital solutions and sell global version as it is (e.g., virtual patient cases, competency assessment tools, local online courses etc.) and advocate for Greater China needs in Elsevier’s innovation pipeline.

  • Drive commercial success by analyzing performance metrics, optimizing product-market fit, and iterating GTM tactics to exceed revenue targets.

  • Establish thought leadership via partnerships with medical/nursing schools, government bodies, and industry associations to shape the future of healthcare education.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in EdTech, digital product commercialization, or healthcare education, with proven success in scaling innovative solutions.

  • Deep understanding of China’s medical/nursing education landscape, including regulatory trends, institutional pain points, and digital adoption barriers.

  • Strategic thinker with a tracked record in business model innovation such as subscription services, and outcome-based pricing.

  • Strong analytical skills: ability to translate market data into actionable product/GTM strategies and plans.

  • Fluency in English and Mandarin; clinical/healthcare background or experience with aging population initiatives is a plus.

  • Master’s or higher degree in medicine or STEM is preferred. Clinical background is a plus
