Vice President, Marketing Intelligence & Strategy
Are you excited by the opportunity to turn audience intelligence, competitive signals, and performance data into strategies that shape what we build, where we invest, and how we engage healthcare professionals and institutions worldwide?
Do you want to build a new marketing intelligence and strategy function from the ground up-defining how data, insights, and content come together to drive smarter decisions and measurable impact across Global Health Marketing?
About our Team:
Elsevier Health applies innovation, facilitates insights, and helps drive more informed decision-making for our customers across global health. We support health providers by providing accessible, trusted evidence-based information; prepare more medical and nursing students with effective tools and resources; provide insights that help clinicians improve patient outcomes; and support a more personalized and localized healthcare experience. All for the benefit of every patient.
About the role:
The VP, Marketing Intelligence & Strategy will own the data-to-strategy-to-content pipeline: the function that translates audience intelligence, competitive signals, and performance data into actionable decisions about what to build, where to invest, how to position, and what to say. This new introduction will move marketing to data-driven, insight-driven programs with a systematic translation of market signals into content strategy and investment decisions. This is a new function - which means you'll define what it becomes. You'll be the center of how Global Health Marketing plans and invests: translating data into strategy, audience intelligence into content, and market signals into decisions. It's a role that sits at the intersection of analytics, strategy, and marketing leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Marketing Intelligence & Strategy function - the organization’s center for market insight, content strategy, and investment intelligence. Data will impact strategic integrated marketing plans and the content created - building plans centered around driving influence across the buying journey.
- Create annual Global Health Marketing plans in partnership with Product Marketing and Demand & Growth team (who will own distribution of content at scale across channels).
- Own the unified attribution model: define how marketing investment translates to pipeline, retention, and revenue, in close partnership the Demand & Growth team, Product Marketing, and Finance.
- Synthesize and leverage audience intelligence: inclusive of clinician behavior, student learning patterns, institutional buying journeys, etc. - and competitive positioning across Clinical Solutions and Education markets.
- Set content strategy direction - the strategic framework that determines what content is created, for whom, and at what stage of the buying journey.
- Develop competitive intelligence and market mapping; translate signals from the market into positioning and investment recommendations.
- Develop an automation roadmap that accelerates content operations without sacrificing quality.
- Present strategic recommendations to CMO and senior leadership; influence roadmap, budget, and org decisions with evidence.
Requirements:
- 12+ years of marketing experience with a demonstrable track record of using data & insight to drive strategy - not just measure it.
- Deep expertise in marketing analytics, attribution, and measurement - you can build measurement models, challenge a methodology, and translate results into business outcomes.
- Strong content strategy instincts: you understand how insight should flow into content, and how content should serve the buying journey at every stage.
- Experience building cross-functional intelligence functions - working with product, sales, finance, and external research partners.
- Exceptional synthesis and communication skills; able to distil complex market signals into clear strategic recommendations.
- Experience with AI marketing tools, personalization platforms, and the emerging landscape of autonomous content operations.
- People leadership experience: you have built and led high-performing analytical and strategic marketing teams.
- Prior experience in a healthcare/health tech - understanding healthcare professional behaviour and institutional buying dynamics.
- Experience working with marketing programs that span both B2B and B2C; experience creating multi-faceted programs that can speak to both an end user and an institutional buyer.
- Experience with advanced marketing analytics platforms (Salesforce Einstein, Adobe Analytics, Looker, Tableau, or equivalent).
- Background in market research or audience intelligence at a research-intensive organization.
- Familiarity with how AI is reshaping content creation, personalization, and marketing operations - and how to build governance around it.
