Flight Software Sub-Group Leader

Task

Operational coordination and management of a flight software teamClose coordination with the Project Manager on all relevant projectsBuilding and maintaining a backlog based on the required project workManagement and prioritization of daily tasks across multiple engineersFacilitation of resource allocation to address changing priorities or risksIdentification of skill gaps and initiation of actions to address themTechnical leadership of all software life cycle functions including requirements, architecture, design, code, test, integration, documentation, and supportBuilding a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, accountability, and continuous improvementEncouragement of knowledge-sharing and competence building across the teamShaping and development of software development processes, methods and toolsMaintaining contact with international space agenciesFollowing the ECSS standard during the development processUtilization of tools such as Polarion, JIRA, MISRA (LDRA), GitLab

Expectation

BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Electronics Engineering5+ years of experience in software development preferably embedded software3+ years of experience in technical leadership and team coordinationProven ability to lead, motivate, and grow an engineering team in a structured environmentExperience with release-driven development and milestone-based project executionAbility to anticipate issues, take initiative, and drive improvements without waiting for directionStrong interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligenceAbility to think at system-level and work across multiple disciplinesGood problem-solving skillsProficiency in English

Other

Experience working in Agile environments including hands-on experience with Scrum methodologiesKnowledge of ISO and/or ECSS standards5+ years of experience in embedded software developmentKnowledge of C/C++ programmingExperience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targetsExperience with ARM or RISC-V MCUs and/or microprocessorsExperience in FPGA and hardware development
