Research-Square is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for an established technical services company in the Netherlands. This is an opportunity to work with leading industrial and manufacturing companies, helping them optimise their technical installations, improve maintenance strategies and increase operational performance.

You will take on an advisory and engineering-focused role, developing maintenance concepts, improving maintenance management systems and translating technical challenges into practical solutions. Working closely with on-site maintenance teams, you will contribute to improving equipment reliability, safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness across industrial production environments.

Full relocation support and visa sponsorship are available for eligible candidates.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will focus on improving the performance, reliability and efficiency of technical installations within industrial and manufacturing environments. You will work closely with clients and their maintenance teams to develop effective maintenance strategies, optimise existing processes and implement sustainable technical improvements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop and implement maintenance concepts, strategies and technical maintenance policies.

• Analyse existing maintenance management systems and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimisation.

• Conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCA) to identify the underlying causes of equipment failures and recurring technical issues.

• Perform FMECA assessments to evaluate equipment failure modes, their effects and associated risks.

• Translate client requirements and technical challenges into clear, practical engineering solutions.

• Work closely with on-site maintenance teams to implement and embed maintenance improvements.

• Improve equipment availability, reliability, safety and overall operational efficiency.

• Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, reduce downtime and increase cost-efficiency.

• Advise clients and stakeholders on maintenance engineering strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

• A Bachelor's degree in an engineering field.

• Approximately 3–5 years of experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Consultant or in Asset Management.

• Experience within the food production and/or manufacturing industry.

• Practical experience conducting Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and FMECA assessments.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify improvement opportunities and translate them into practical solutions.

• A structured and results-oriented approach to maintenance engineering.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, maintenance teams and other technical stakeholders.

• A willingness to relocate and build a future in the Netherlands.
