Role Description

At Respond.io, our mobile app puts AI-powered customer conversations into the hands of businesses in over 127 countries, and we're looking for a detail-oriented Mobile Developer to help build what's next - joining our Frontend Team as a hands-on contributor working primarily in React Native and TypeScript, partnering closely with Web Development and Product to ship features that shape the mobile experience, with real ownership on a small, senior team where your code reaches real customers fast.

What You Will Be Doing

• Build & Ship Features: Design and build new features in React Native and TypeScript, working closely with backend developers, designers, and product managers from idea through release.
• Monitor & Optimize: Track how the live app performs in the real world - speed, stability, responsiveness - and act on what you find.
• Fix & Prevent Bugs: Take ownership of bug identification and resolution, and spot patterns that help prevent repeat issues.
• Raise the Bar on Code Quality: Write clean, well-documented, testable code, contribute to code reviews, and help strengthen our unit testing and CI/CD practices.
• Improve How We Work: Research new tools and patterns, and bring them back to the team to make how we build software better over time.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with React Native, including the app lifecycle, handling user interactions, and integrating with APIs
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Javascript
• Experience with state management (e.g., Redux, Zustand, or Context API)
• Experience testing with Jest and React Native Testing Library
• Familiarity with native iOS or Android development (Xcode / Android Studio) is a plus for debugging and performance tuning
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deploying to the App Store or Play Store is a plus
• Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly
• A nimble, collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment
