About This Role

RGP is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Consultant to support a client engagement in the Atlanta market. The consultant will partner closely with Accounting, Finance, Procurement, and business stakeholders while helping strengthen controls, resolve issues, and identify opportunities to improve AP processes.

What You Will Work On

  • Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, approvals, posting, and payment processing.
  • Perform 2-way and 3-way matching and investigate invoice, purchase order, and receiving discrepancies.
  • Process and support ACH, wire, check, and other payment runs.
  • Reconcile AP subledger activity to the general ledger and research variances.
  • Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries and payment issues.
  • Review AP aging and help resolve outstanding or aged items.
  • Support month-end close, including accruals, reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting.
  • Partner with Procurement, Finance, and Accounting teams to improve Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
  • Support internal and external audit requests and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and SOX requirements, where applicable.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen controls, and improve AP efficiency.

What You Will Bring

  • 10+ years of progressive Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a complex or high-volume environment.
  • Strong knowledge of full-cycle AP and Procure-to-Pay processes.
  • Experience with invoice matching, vendor reconciliations, payment processing, accruals, and month-end close.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and SOX compliance.
  • Experience with a major ERP platform such as Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, or NetSuite. RGP's internal AP materials specifically identify ERP experience as important for these engagements.
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze and reconcile large volumes of AP activity.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process gaps and implement practical improvements.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across Accounting, Finance, Procurement, and operational teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite in the Atlanta area

What You Can Expect

  • Compensation commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market and operational factors.
