The Opportunity: 

At Rimes, the Project Manager is the backbone of structured client delivery - the person who turns agreed scope into a clear, executable plan and sees it through to production. You will own your projects end-to-end, from mobilisation through deployment, coordinating cross-functional Rimes and client teams across design, configuration, data onboarding, testing and go-live. 

This is a career-level role within our Professional Services organisation, sitting at the centre of the Solution Delivery sub-function and working shoulder-to-shoulder with Solution Consultants, Implementation Engineers and Solution Architects. You will work independently, bring discipline and client focus to every engagement, and take full accountability for delivery outcomes on your projects. 

Responsibilities: 

Project Planning & Governance - 

• Own the project plan for your allocated engagements, covering scope, timeline, resource requirements, dependencies, milestones and critical path. 
• Run a structured project kickoff: confirm scope, roles, assumptions and escalation paths in writing with all key stakeholders before delivery begins. 
• Establish and maintain appropriate project governance: regular cadence meetings, clear agendas, documented decisions and tracked actions; distribute meeting notes within 24 hours. 
• Ensure clarity on scope, timelines, budget and contracted deliverables at handoff from pre-sales, establish a definitive baseline before delivery commences. 

Scope & Change Management -

• Manage project scope proactively, identify scope creep early, assess impact formally and work with the Solution Consultant and client through a structured change control process. 
• Ensure requirements are signed off in writing before build begins; manage any post-sign-off changes as formal change requests with full documentation, impact assessment and stakeholder communication. 
• Balance the need to accommodate critical changes with the obligation to protect project timeline and budget. 

Risk & Issue Management -

• Maintain a live risk and issue log throughout the project, reviewed regularly with your delivery team and PS lead. 
• Identify risks at kickoff and monitor them actively; escalate within 24 hours of identifying a risk that could affect timeline, budget or client satisfaction. 
• Communicate risk status to the client factually and professionally, clients should never be surprised by risks materialising. 

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting 

• Provide regular, honest RAG status reporting to clients and internal stakeholders, amber communicated early is always better than red communicated late. 
• Prepare and deliver clear project status updates, written and verbal, calibrated to the audience, whether operational contacts, project sponsors or senior management. 
• Manage client expectations at the project governance level; escalate relationship risks to your PS lead promptly. 

Delivery Coordination -

• Coordinate across the PS delivery team, Solution Consultants, Implementation Engineers, Test Analysts and Content colleagues, to ensure workstreams are aligned and dependencies are managed. 
• Drive the delivery team through the agreed implementation lifecycle, solution design, configuration, data onboarding, testing, UAT, deployment readiness and production deployment. 
• Run a structured UAT phase with defined acceptance criteria and a clear process for defect management and resolution; obtain written client approval before closing the implementation. 
• Manage change beyond formal project delivery as needed, including post-deployment change requests, defects and transition into steady-state operations. 

General Delivery and Change -

• Support wider Professional Services and Rimes priorities as required, including internal projects and change initiatives aligned to company and functional OKRs, applying project management discipline appropriate to the scale and nature of the work. 

AI & Innovation-

• Actively leverage AI-enabled tools in project management tasks, planning, status reporting, risk tracking, meeting documentation and communications. 
• Stay current with evolving AI tooling relevant to PS delivery and contribute to team adoption of effective new practices. 

Requirements: 

Knowledge & Experience -

• Solid working knowledge of project management methodology, ideally including formal certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent) or demonstrable equivalent experience. 
• Experience managing client-facing implementation projects in a technology, financial services or data management environment. 
• Understanding of Agile delivery methods and when to apply them within a structured delivery context. 
• Demonstrated ability to manage RAID logs, change control and formal project governance processes. 
• Familiarity with Rimes' products and delivery context, or comparable experience with outsourced data management or financial technology implementations. 

Skills -

• Plans and manages own projects without day-to-day guidance, self-sufficient on familiar project types and delivery challenges. 
• Clear, structured written and verbal communication, able to produce concise, accurate status reports and manage client expectations professionally. 
• Confident running governance meetings: sets agendas, manages time, captures decisions and tracks actions. 
• Methodical approach to risk: identifies, assesses and escalates risks before they become issues. 
• Hands-on proficiency with project management tooling - JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Project or equivalent. 
• Comfortable with AI-enabled PM tooling; actively builds efficiency into their delivery practice.

• Proactively surfaces risks, blockers and status changes, does not wait to be asked and does not go silent when things are not on track. 
• Maintains clear and professional client relationships at the project level, responsive, structured and reliable. 
• Drives the team towards closure, does not consider delivery complete until agreed acceptance criteria are met and production deployment is confirmed. 
• Pragmatic problem-solver, finds ways through obstacles without sacrificing quality or governance. 
• Structured and disciplined, applies consistent rigour to governance, documentation and reporting, even under delivery pressure.
