Riot Games is an American video game developer founded in 2006 that built League of Legends, the free-to-play team battle game that became one of the most played titles in the world and the foundation of modern esports. It has since released the tactical shooter Valorant, the card game Legends of Runeterra, the mobile title Wild Rift and the animated series Arcane, all set in the same fictional universe, and it operates the professional leagues around its games directly rather than licensing them out. Headquartered in Los Angeles and wholly owned by Tencent, it is unusual for running a small number of titles as very long-lived services.

Riot is expanding into the Trading Card Game space with Riftbound, and we are looking for a Regional Publishing Product Lead - Riftbound to lead its launch and growth in Korea.

As the Regional Publishing Product Lead - Riftbound on Korea Publishing team, you will lead the team responsible for delivering Riftbound’s publishing strategy and player experience in the Korean market. You will combine strong market knowledge with people leadership and operational discipline. You will be accountable for setting priorities, developing your team, coordinating across Riot and external partners, and delivering measurable player and business outcomes for Riftbound in Korea.

You will report to Sr. Director, General Management.

  • Player and Community Ecosystem. Lead the development of Riftbound’s competitive, hobby-play, and community ecosystems in Korea; Guide programs that support player acquisition, engagement, retention, and long-term community health; Build relationships with tournament organizers, retailers, hobby stores, creators, and community leaders; Establish systems for gathering and acting on Korean player and partner feedback; Partner with global teams to ensure relevant market insights inform future product and publishing decisions.
  • Business and Partnership Management. Manage Riftbound’s Korea publishing budget and ensure resources are allocated against the highest-impact priorities; Develop and oversee local partnership strategies involving distributors, retailers, media organizations, brands, and community partners; Set clear expectations and performance measures for external partners; Identify market risks, operational dependencies, and opportunities, and communicate them to relevant leaders; Partner with Insights and Finance teams to track adoption, engagement, retention, ecosystem health, and business performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in publishing, product management, marketing, or a related discipline within games, entertainment, consumer products, or another relevant industry;
  • 2+ years of experience directly managing and developing teams.
  • Strong understanding of Korean consumer behavior, cultural trends, media channels, and gaming or entertainment audiences. Experience launching or growing products in the Korean market.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional programs involving multiple internal teams and external partners.

For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players. We will be looking at your past studies, experience, and your personal relationship with games. If you embody player empathy and care about players' experiences, this could be your role!
