The Robotics Deployment (RD) Engineer is part of the Robotics Deployment (RD) team, which fine-tunes RLWRLD and global open-source robot infrastructure models for implementation in Japanese industrial settings.
This position plays a crucial role in the operation of humanoid robots in real-world Japanese environments, data infrastructure construction, and robot control system implementation.
You will be responsible for the entire process from "on-site installation (HW/SW)" to "commissioning (Commissioning)" and "stabilization (Troubleshooting)" of robot control systems (HW/SW) and model/data acquisition systems.
While the RD team is broadly divided into SW Engineers and Research Engineers, the difference lies primarily in whether they are "more robot/data infrastructure-oriented" or "more fine-tuning-oriented," with no clear dividing line.
This is a cutting-edge position in the Physical AI era, where you will rapidly solve complex on-site challenges, acquire high-quality robot training data, and build the technological foundation for successful PoC (Proof of Concept) and ultimate commercialization.
We are seeking ambitious engineers who want to solve the most challenging on-site technical problems and lead the commercialization of Physical AI in Japan.
[Main Job Responsibilities]
- Installation, Setup, and Commissioning of Robot Control Systems and Teleoperation (Remote Control) Systems - Responsible for on-site installation, setup, and commissioning of systems for precise remote control of humanoid robots and manipulators. - Developing optimal control and communication configurations tailored to the customer environment.
- Robot Dataset Collection and Management - Building a pipeline for efficiently collecting, storing, and managing large-scale multimodal data for robot base model learning, based on guidelines from our Product team. - Formulating and executing data collection strategies optimized for customer sites. - Providing feedback of high-quality data necessary for model improvement to the internal research team.
- Immediate Response, Root Cause Analysis, and Resolution of Technical Issues (HW/SW) Occurring During PoC and Data Collection - Stabilization and optimization through system log analysis, sequence debugging, and parameter adjustment. - Providing operation and maintenance training for customers and SI partners. - Organizing on-site issues and customer feedback, and reporting to project managers and RD teams.
- Problem Structuring and Implementation Promotion in Highly Uncertain Environments - Organizing complex problems based on data and logic, and translating them into actionable solutions.
