The Robotics Deployment Research Engineer is a part of the Robotics Deployment (RD) team that fine-tunes RLWRLD and global open-source robot platform models and implements them in industrial sites in Japan.
The primary role of this position is to define system issues based on data acquired in the field, and build and operate a data->model->control feedback loop while continuously improving model performance through re-training and fine-tuning with additional data.
In addition, particularly for PoCs conducted in the field, the position will lead the fine-tuning of robot platform models and fulfill the important mission of maximizing the PoC success rate through training with additional data.
The RD team is broadly divided into software engineers and research engineers, but there is no clear-cut boundary between them; the difference is between those who are more "robot and data infrastructure-oriented" and those who are more "fine-tuning-oriented."
This position is at the forefront of the Physical AI era, quickly solving complex field issues and obtaining high-quality robot training data to build the technical foundation for successful PoCs (proof of concept) and ultimate commercialization.
We are looking for motivated engineers who want to solve the most challenging field technology problems and lead the commercialization of Physical AI in Japan.
[Major Duties]
- Fine-tuning and control application of robot platform models - Fine-tuning and control logic implementation for RLWRLD and global OSS robot platform models to operate on actual robots - Re-training and model improvement based on additional data collection at customer sites - Model adjustments and feedback loop operation to maximize PoC success rates
- Model performance evaluation in simulation/real-world environments - Comprehensive testing and analysis of model behavior in both simulation and field environments - Evaluating field performance based on quantitative indicators and identifying areas for improvement
- Robot system stabilization and optimization - Stabilizing control systems through system log analysis, sequence debugging, and parameter tuning - Considering technical specifications to achieve both improved model performance and stable system operation
- Data quality management and model improvement loop operation - Label quality, annotation, and multimodal data preparation - Building and operating an end-to-end technical loop from data → model → control
- Technical support for customers and SI partners - Providing technical training on operations and maintenance - Organize on-site issues, customer feedback, and improvement requests, and share them with the tech team and PM.
- Structuring and implementing solutions in a highly uncertain environment - Structuring complex problems based on data and logic, and autonomously working to resolve them.
Company Info
Real World Robotics (RLWRLD) is a leading Korean AI and robotics company at the forefront of developing a robotics platform model (VLA, Vision Language Action) that enables robots to perceive the world, think, and perform tasks using their hands like humans.
Leveraging its deep research capabilities in AI and robotics, RLWRLD is accelerating the development of a general-purpose AI model that enables precise manipulation using high-degree-of-freedom robotic hands.
In addition, RLWRLD has built a strong network with research institutes and robotics and sensor solution partners to provide AI solutions that can be immediately applied in real-world industrial settings, primarily in the manufacturing industry.
