Engineering Manager, Ads Experience

We are building the next generation of immersive advertising at Roblox. Our team sits at the core of the Roblox Ads ecosystem, serving billions of impressions while providing the critical infrastructure that connects global brands with our massive community of creators.

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Ads Experience team, responsible for the full spectrum of our monetization experience: Advertiser Experience (Roblox Ads Manager), Brand Experience (Brand Ads & Integrations), and Publisher Experience (Creator Monetization & Commerce). Together these surfaces are the front door to advertising on Roblox, where a global brand, a solo developer, and everyone in between can connect their creativity with high-performing campaigns and earnings.

As the Engineering Manager, you will own both the delivery and technical health of these products and the growth of a high-performing engineering team. You'll partner closely with Product, Design, and Data Science to make campaign creation fast and intuitive, brand integrations rich and safe, and creator monetization fair and transparent.  

You Will

• Build and lead a team of high-caliber software engineers. You'll be responsible for hiring, performance management, career development, and fostering an inclusive, high-output team culture.
• Drive the Ads Experience roadmap and end-to-end architecture across Roblox Ads Manager, Brand Ads & Integrations, and Creator Monetization & Commerce.
• Own the full software development lifecycle for your team. Balance rapid product iteration with long-term technical health, ensuring high-quality features ship on schedule.
• Provide technical guidance on system design and frontend/backend architecture, ensuring the products handle complex forecasting, campaign management, and real-time reporting at scale.
• Apply AI across the ecosystem, from Gen AI for multi-modal creatives to intelligent assistants that help advertisers and creators set up, optimize, and troubleshoot their campaigns and monetization.
• Collaborate deeply with Product Management, Design, and Data Science to define the product vision, and bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation.

You Have

• 8+ years of software development experience, with 2+ years of experience in people management (hiring and performance management).
• Experience delivering customer-facing web products end to end, with a solid understanding of the Ad Tech stack, campaign management, reporting, creative, ad serving, measurement, and ad delivery.
• Strong background in distributed systems and high-availability backend services (Go, C#, or similar), and an understanding of modern frontend architectures (React/TypeScript).
• A passion for mentoring engineers and a proven ability to manage performance, navigate complex organizational challenges, and build a cohesive team.
• Experience driving engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing strategies, and incident management for high-scale systems.
• The ability to think like a product owner while maintaining strong technical rigor.
• BS, MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.

Annual Salary Range

$295,250—$345,040 USD

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
