The Position

NMR Expert in pRED-pCMC Analytical Chemistry

In Roche’s Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED), we make transformative medicines for patients in order to tackle some of the world’s toughest unmet healthcare needs. At pRED, we are united by our mission to transform science into medicine. Together, we create a culture defined by curiosity, responsibility and humility, where our talented people are empowered and inspired to bring forward extraordinary life-changing innovation at speed.

This role is situated within the preclinical Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (pCMC) department, part of the Small Molecule Research organization in pRED Therapeutic Modalities (TMo). We pave the path for drug candidates from early research to development in a diverse, ambitious, and innovative environment. Collaborating actively with our discovery and development partners, we leverage cutting-edge technologies and scientific excellence to transform molecules into future medicines. As CMC experts, we bring a rich diversity of technical expertise in chemistry, formulation design, material science, and analytical chemistry, pioneering advancements in small molecules, peptides, and nucleic acid-based medicines.

  • Collaboration and Relationship Building: You foster trustful relationships and effective collaboration with internal discovery and technical development teams as well as with external partners.

Who You Are

  • Educational Background: Masters with a minimum of 5 years or PhD in analytical chemistry or related fields with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the industry.

  • Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of NMR analytics and its applications paired with a deep understanding of the technical and theoretical basis beyond the standard experiments for liquid and solid state NMR. Experience with other methods for biophysical characterization is a plus.

  • Proven Experience: Hands on expertise in structure elucidation and interaction studies by NMR for synthetic oligonucleotides and/or peptides. Demonstrated expertise on higher order structure studies and aggregation studies.

  • Mindset: You possess an open-minded and highly proactive, "just-do-it" approach. You enjoy problem-solving and developing new ways of working. You comfortably navigate working in a multidisciplinary matrix team.
