Senior Data Architect Specialist

Rocketdyne is seeking a Senior Specialist, Data Architect and Engineer to develop and support data solutions that improve business operations and decision-making. This role combines data architecture, engineering, analytics, and cross-functional technical leadership.

The selected candidate will design and maintain data models, pipelines, dashboards, and user-facing applications using Snowflake, Power BI, and other enterprise tools. They will collaborate with business and technical teams to translate requirements into reliable solutions while supporting data quality, security, and governance.

Essential Functions

• Design and maintain data models, ontologies, and supporting metadata.
• Develop dashboards and analytical applications that enable self-service reporting and actionable insights.
• Build and support data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and integrating enterprise data.
• Support data warehouse governance, including data quality, security, and access provisioning.
• Lead customer planning sessions to define requirements, improve processes, and prioritize data initiatives.
• Coordinate with IT, analytics, and business teams to align solutions and avoid duplication of effort.
• Lead cross-functional technical teams and communicate recommendations to stakeholders and executives.
• Maintain technical documentation, data schemas, pipeline specifications, and user guides.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience; graduate degree with at least 4 years; or at least 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Skills

• Experience building and managing datasets, data pipelines, and transformations.
• Experience designing data ontologies, semantic models, and enterprise data warehouse solutions.
• At least 2 years of experience with ETL/ELT, data storage, and data modeling using enterprise integration tools and/or Python.
• At least 2 years of experience with Power BI or similar visualization tools.
• Experience developing user-facing analytical applications and self-service reporting solutions.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, Python, SQL, TypeScript, and version-controlled code repositories.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Strong communication, customer focus, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
• Experience collaborating across functional teams and influencing outcomes in an agile environment.
