We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Digital Site Reliability Engineer (Digital SRE) to ensure the reliability, availability, performance, and scalability of our digital platforms, websites, applications, APIs, and customer-facing services.
The successful candidate will combine software engineering, cloud infrastructure, automation, and operational excellence to improve digital service performance and minimize downtime. This role will focus on monitoring digital experiences, preventing service disruptions, automating operational processes, and collaborating with development, DevOps, cybersecurity, and product teams to deliver seamless digital experiences.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site reliability engineering, cloud platforms, application performance monitoring, incident management, and digital service optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the availability, reliability, and performance of websites, web applications, APIs, and other digital services.
- Monitor digital platforms using observability, logging, tracing, and application performance monitoring tools.
- Identify and resolve production incidents, service interruptions, latency issues, and performance bottlenecks.
- Establish and maintain service-level indicators (SLIs), service-level objectives (SLOs), and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Automate repetitive operational tasks, deployment processes, monitoring activities, and incident response workflows.
- Collaborate with software developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams to improve application reliability and deployment quality.
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure across AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Support containerized applications and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive measures following service incidents.
- Design and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant architectures for customer-facing digital platforms.
- Optimize application response times, server utilization, availability, and overall user experience.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated testing practices.
- Develop dashboards, alerts, and reporting mechanisms to identify potential service degradation before it affects customers.
- Support disaster recovery planning, backup procedures, resilience testing, and business continuity initiatives.
- Participate in on-call rotations and coordinate incident response when required.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, system architecture diagrams, and reliability reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Three or more years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, cloud engineering, production operations, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of web technologies, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, APIs, networking, and distributed systems.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and services, preferably AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, Go, Bash, or similar.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, or Splunk.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or comparable platforms.
- Experience with Linux administration, containerization, and infrastructure automation.
- Knowledge of incident management, root cause analysis, and production troubleshooting.
- Understanding of high availability, scalability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery principles.
- Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting high-traffic websites, e-commerce platforms, digital products, or customer-facing applications.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with application performance monitoring, distributed tracing, and centralized logging.
- Familiarity with digital experience monitoring, real-user monitoring (RUM), and synthetic monitoring.
- Knowledge of security best practices, vulnerability management, and cloud security controls.
- Experience with reliability testing, chaos engineering, load testing, and performance optimization.
- Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, or site reliability engineering.
