The ideal candidate will have strong networking fundamentals, experience with network monitoring and incident management, and the ability to collaborate with infrastructure, security, cloud, and operations teams to ensure consistent network performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and optimize network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Monitor network health, latency, throughput, packet loss, and overall service reliability.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve network outages, performance bottlenecks, and connectivity issues.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
- Develop and maintain network automation scripts and tools to streamline operations and reduce manual errors.
- Manage network devices and technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
- Establish and maintain network reliability metrics, service-level objectives (SLOs), and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Implement network redundancy, failover, disaster recovery, and capacity-planning strategies.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce network security policies and protect infrastructure.
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, technical documentation, and operational procedures.
- Support cloud networking environments, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Recommend infrastructure improvements based on monitoring data, performance trends, and recurring incidents.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Three or more years of experience in network engineering, network operations, site reliability engineering, or a related technical role.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and switching.
