This SkillBridge opportunity is with Collins Aerospace.
RTX is a provider of SkillBridge Fellowship opportunities for transitioning service members to gain an in-depth understanding of the aerospace and defense business from some of the most respected leaders and engineers in the industry. SkillBridge fellows will not be eligible for any compensation during their fellowship, as they will continue to receive all military pay and benefits. Upon successful completion of this fellowship, you will be well prepared and encouraged to apply for open positions listed on our careers page.
To be eligible for a SkillBridge, you must meet the following requirements:
- Must be on Active-Duty orders in the U.S. Armed Forces
- Must be eligible to participate per DoD Instruction 1322.29.
- Must have all TAP and transition requirements completed prior to the start date.
- Must receive approval from Unit Commander or O4+ in the chain of command.
What You Will Do:
Training & mentorship opportunities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinates staff & workflow to achieve the customer’s schedule.
- Motivates and drives a positive team work ethic and environment.
- Leading employee engagement and continuous improvement efforts.
- Lead sustained improvements in safety, quality, production, material procurement, and cost. reduction through the system’s various elements.
- Perform daily supervisor responsibilities, project management, effective communication, and execution with support group members.
- Establish work schedules considering customer requirements, resource availability and other priorities.
- Provide leadership and direction with an emphasis on team building through daily meetings, effective communications, and in developing an efficient team that is responsive to production requirements and changes.
- Work dedicatedly to address issues and engage the workforce in achieving cell goals.
- Demonstrate a 100% dedication to Quality, Environment Health and Safety (EHS).
- Understanding and ability to drive quality and customer satisfaction through CORE operating system.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Must be eligible to participate in DoW SkillBridge
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience with specialized knowledge of technical or operational practices.
- Experience with basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
- Experience in MS Office.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Exposure to ERP systems, SAP preferred.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks.
- Proven ability to facilitate difficult conversations and communicate early, and concisely with individuals at all organizational levels.

In this dynamic environment, you will have the opportunity to network across our businesses and functions, all while improving the productivity, quality and efficiency of our operations worldwide.
Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Weekend shift. Friday-Sunday 6AM-6PM
