Intermediate Test Automation Developer

Our financial services client is seeking an Intermediate Test Automation Developer (5+ years) to develop and maintain automated test suites using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, and Azure DevOps

Join a banking technology team introducing automated testing for Microsoft Dynamics applications hosted on Azure. Previous delivery relied on manual testing, and the team is now building automation capabilities to support two new project mandates.

Working alongside the QA Automation Lead, you will develop and maintain automated tests using Microsoft Playwright. Most of the work will focus on Microsoft Dynamics, with potential opportunities to extend automation to API testing using Postman.

Initial 1-year Contract | Ottawa (Remote) | 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. 

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated UI tests using Microsoft Playwright, primarily for Microsoft Dynamics applications.
• Work with the QA Automation Lead to implement the automation approach and expand coverage across priority business workflows.
• Translate requirements and existing manual test cases into reliable automated tests.
• Build reusable test components and maintain test scripts as applications evolve.
• Analyze test failures, document defects, and collaborate with developers to investigate and resolve issues.
• Support functional and regression testing across project releases.
• Contribute to automated API testing using Postman as required.
• Collaborate with QA team members, developers, and business stakeholders to validate expected application behaviour.

• 5+ years of QA and testing experience supporting enterprise applications.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated UI tests using Microsoft Playwright.
• Experience translating business requirements and manual test scenarios into automated test coverage.
• Experience testing applications hosted on Microsoft Azure
• Experience testing Microsoft Dynamics 365 applications.
• Strong understanding of functional, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Ability to investigate test failures, distinguish automation issues from application defects, and clearly document findings.
• Ability to work independently on assigned testing activities while collaborating with a QA Automation Lead and development team.

• Experience with API testing and automation using Postman.
• Experience introducing automated testing into applications previously tested manually.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)
