Senior SDET/Automation Engineer

Our consumer business client is seeking a Senior SDET/Automation Engineer (10+ years) to lead automation testing using Salesforce CRM

Join a value-stream team focused on building scalable, automated verification across the SDLC for distributed systems and Salesforce environments. This hands-on role includes developing reusable testing frameworks, modernizing testing platforms, and integrating quality signals into CI/CD pipelines. The work emphasizes automated verification for APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and Kafka-based workflows in containerized environments. The team deploys continuously and treats quality engineering, developer tooling, and CI/CD performance as core engineering disciplines.

12 month contract, high chance of extension, Vancouver, 3 days a week onsite Working Hours: 40 hours/week PST

Must Haves

• 10+ years in SDET and Automation Testing within software engineering environments
• Professional experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and automated testing frameworks including Vitest or Playwright
• Building verification solutions for APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
• Hands-on work with Docker, Kubernetes-based applications, and Kafka event-driven architectures
• Education not specified

Nice to Have

• Trunk-based development and continuous deployment environments with frequent merges and deployments
• Grafana k6 or other performance engineering tools
• Consumer-driven contract testing tools such as Pact
• Mutation testing tools and techniques
• Internal developer platforms or engineering enablement tooling

Responsibilities

• Design automated verification frameworks for APIs, microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and Salesforce systems
• Build infrastructure for component testing in isolated containerized environments with stubbed dependencies
• Validate API contracts, service behavior, and Kafka messaging workflows
• Develop reusable testing utilities and developer tooling patterns
• Integrate verification into PR, merge, release, and deployment pipelines
• Modernize testing platforms and reduce maintenance overhead across repositories
• Strengthen verification strategies across unit, integration, performance, security, resilience, and accessibility testing
