Junior to Intermediate Business Analyst

Our large Oil and Gas industry client is seeking a Junior to Intermediate Business Analyst to interpret and translate downstream business requirements into SAP Master Data configurations.

Duration: 6-month initial contract with a possibility of extension 

Working model: Full-time onsite within downtown Calgary 

Must-Haves: 

• 1-3 years' of Business Analysis experience, ideally supporting business processes, data management, or SAP systems
• Experience with SAP in one or more of the following Master Data objects:
• Material Master (MM) 
• Business Partner (BP) 
• Plant
• Trader and Scheduler Workbench (TSW) 
• Understanding of master data management processes, including data creation, maintenance, and updates.
• Ability to gather, interpret, and translate business requirements into clear system and data requirements.
• Oil and Gas industry experience, ideally supporting downstream and/or trading operations 

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with TriplePoint (particularly valuable), Trader and Scheduler Workbench (TSW), Integrated Business Planner (IBP), or DTN Tabs.
• Hands-on experience creating, modifying, or maintaining SAP Master Data. 
• Experience with Data Governance, data integrity, and compliance.
• Exposure to ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems for managing and tracking requests. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Work directly with Downstream business stakeholders to understand, interpret, and translate business requirements into SAP Master Data requirements.
• Process and triage day-to-day master data requests, ensuring information is accurate, complete, and delivered within established timelines.
• Support master data activities across SAP data objects, including Plant, Material Master, Business Partner, and Trader and Scheduler Workbench (TSW).
• Act as a first point of contact for standard master data requests and provide guidance to internal stakeholders on master data processes and requirements.
• Maintain process documentation, procedures, and supporting materials to ensure consistency across master data activities.
• Contribute to enterprise data governance, data integrity, standardization, and compliance initiatives.
• Conduct Business Analysis activities to identify and solve issues and document solutions as they relate to the downstream hydrocarbon value chain within SAP.
