Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer and Lead to design and build scalable backend systems, data platforms, and governance capabilities. The role involves working across distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, metadata management, data governance, and cross-platform integrations while ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and compliance.
Your Role Responsibilities and Duties:
- Design and build scalable services for metadata management, data classification, and data lineage.
- Develop policy-as-code frameworks for automated and fine-grained data access control.
- Build and maintain backend systems using Java, Go, or similar programming languages.
- Develop automation and platform capabilities beyond one-off data pipelines.
- Build integrations across streaming platforms, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Implement automated workflows for data access, auditability, and compliance.
- Enable data discovery and enrichment through standardized metadata and ownership.
- Integrate data quality and observability signals into governance systems.
- Develop APIs and self-service capabilities to improve developer and user experience.
- Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and production-ready.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and security teams to deliver governed and compliant data solutions.
- Provide on-call support and contribute to production issue resolution.
- Drive cross-platform integrations and translate business and compliance requirements into technical solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 6-12 years of experience in Software Engineering, Backend Development, Data Engineering, or related technologies.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience in distributed systems, APIs, and data modelling.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and/or Go.
- Experience working with data platforms such as Kafka, Spark, data lakes, and data warehouses.
- Strong understanding of data pipelines and cross-platform integrations.
- Experience with data governance, metadata, data lineage, and data classification concepts.
- Experience with access control models such as RBAC/ABAC and security best practices.
- Strong understanding of SQL and APIs.
- Experience building scalable, reliable, and production-ready platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and system design skills.
- Ability to work across engineering, product, security, and compliance functions.
- B.E., B.Tech., M.Tech, or M.C.A. qualification.
