1. Role Overview

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our global engineering team, where innovation knows no borders. Our team builds and operates next-generation airline retailing and fulfilment platforms that enable airlines and travel partners to modernise offer, order, payment, and servicing capabilities at scale. Through close collaboration with product, architecture, operations, and customer teams, we deliver secure, resilient, and highly scalable solutions that directly support business growth and customer success.

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for shaping architecture, influencing engineering strategy, and driving delivery of complex business-critical initiatives. You will work across multiple teams to solve challenging technology problems, establish engineering best practices, and help accelerate Sabre's transformation through modern platforms, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities.

2. What THIS ROLE Will Do

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of large-scale software solutions that support strategic business objectives and customer needs.
• Drive technical direction across multiple teams, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and operational excellence across platforms and services.
• Partner with product, engineering, and business leaders to translate complex requirements into innovative and sustainable technology solutions.
• Champion modern engineering practices, automation, observability, and AI-driven efficiencies to improve development velocity and system quality.
• Mentor senior engineers and provide technical leadership that elevates engineering standards, accelerates innovation, and strengthens organisational capability.

3. What THIS ROLE Requires

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems and enterprise platforms.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, microservices, API design, event-driven systems, and modern software engineering practices.
• Proven ability to influence architecture decisions, lead complex technical initiatives, and drive alignment across multiple engineering teams.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance technical excellence and business outcomes.
