About Our Family

We are two working parents raising three school-aged children who are involved in sports and activities, along with a loving dog who is very much part of our family rhythm. Our household is dynamic and full of movement, and we value a home environment that feels organized, comfortable, and consistently well-managed.

We are down-to-earth, kind, and professional people with demanding schedules. We care deeply about having thoughtful systems and reliable support in place so that our home and daily life run smoothly. We’re looking for a long-term House Manager & Family Assistant who can step confidently into the rhythm of our household, take ownership of day-to-day needs, and help make family life easier and less hectic.

We retain a professional cleaning service for substantive whole-home and deep cleaning. This role is focused instead on the ongoing household management and hands-on support that keeps the home running smoothly between professional cleaning visits-from laundry, linens, dishes, and daily resets to meal preparation, errands, family logistics, transportation, and household coordination.

Who You Are

You are a reliable, proactive, and highly organized person who genuinely enjoys helping a busy household run smoothly. You’re comfortable taking ownership of a variety of responsibilities and shifting priorities as the family’s needs change from day to day.

You work exceptionally well independently and don’t require significant direction or ongoing coaching. You notice what needs to be done, take initiative, and communicate clearly about priorities, progress, and anything that needs the family’s attention.

You enjoy creating order and maintaining a welcoming home. While this is not a deep-cleaning position, you’re comfortable with the hands-on household upkeep that naturally comes with managing a home, including laundry, linens, dishes, tidying, kitchen and bathroom resets, and organization.

You’re equally comfortable preparing everyday family meals, running errands, managing appointments and calendars, helping with school and activity transportation, coordinating vendors, and caring for a family dog. Above all, you’re dependable, flexible, trustworthy, and interested in becoming a valued long-term part of the household.

Key Qualities Include

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proactive self-starter who works well independently
  • Dependable, trustworthy, and punctual
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain established household systems
  • Comfortable with hands-on household upkeep and daily cleaning/reset tasks
  • Comfortable cooking and preparing everyday family meals
  • Warm and confident around school-aged children
  • Comfortable with dogs and ongoing pet care
  • Safe, confident driver with a valid driver’s licence
  • Comfortable managing appointments, errands, calendars, and household logistics
  • Flexible and able to shift priorities as household needs change
  • Clear, transparent communicator who is open to feedback and collaboration
  • Respectful of the privacy and confidentiality of a family home
  • Long-term mindset
