About Our Family
We’re a warm, social, and active family living in Orinda. Both parents work full-time in demanding roles, with a mix of work-from-home days and time onsite. Our home is a busy, energized space that runs best when there’s a steady, capable person helping to keep everything on track.
Our two daughters are the heart of the house. They’re high-energy, athletic, and genuinely fun to be around - always in motion between school, sports, and activities. They love being outside, riding their bikes, staying busy, and connecting with people who match their enthusiasm. As a family, we enjoy an active lifestyle. We especially love skiing together during the winter months. We value experiences that get us moving, take us outdoors, and give us the opportunity to have fun together.
We don’t need someone to constantly entertain the girls so much as someone who is genuinely happy to be present with them - watching them ride bikes, playing alongside them, cheering them on, and offering a warm, steady presence in the afternoons. Someone who can match their energy while also creating a sense of calm and consistency would fit beautifully into our home.
Reliability, trust, and good communication matter deeply to us. When we hand something off, we need to be able to truly let it go, knowing it will be handled thoughtfully and thoroughly. The right person will operate independently, stay organized, anticipate needs, and keep us informed without requiring constant supervision.
With two busy careers and full family schedules, our evenings can easily become focused on logistics and catching up on household tasks. One of the biggest gifts this role can provide is helping create more space for us to reconnect at the end of each day. By keeping the household organized, anticipating what needs to happen next, and helping the afternoons transition smoothly into the evenings, you’ll allow us to put work aside and spend more meaningful, quality time together as a family.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
You are warm, playful, and genuinely energized by the company of kids. You bring a happy, grounded presence to the homes you work in and take real pride in doing your job well. Noticing what needs to happen before being asked comes naturally to you - and you handle it without fanfare. Organization, trustworthiness, and reliability are at the heart of how you work. You have a deep understanding of the importance of reliability and that the family is counting on you to show up, be present, and follow through.
You know that proactive, clear communication allows the parents to stay involved without carrying the mental load. You’re receptive to feedback, comfortable asking thoughtful questions, and able to adjust as the family’s routines and needs evolve. You understand that every household has its own rhythm and preferences, and you pay attention to the details that help the home run smoothly.
Maturity and initiative allow you to manage household tasks independently, while your playful side makes you equally happy to sit on the floor, get silly, and fully engage with two active girls. You know how to balance fun with structure, encourage independence while maintaining clear boundaries, and remain patient and steady through busy periods, big feelings, and unexpected changes. Safety-minded and emotionally attuned, you’re confident taking the lead when needed.
Open communication, mutual respect, and collaboration matter deeply to you. You bring positive energy into the home and you consistently demonstrate good judgment, discretion, and respect for the family’s privacy. Above all, you’re looking for a role where you can build trust, create consistency, and become a meaningful, dependable part of the family’s everyday life.
