About the opportunity

As our Senior Manager, Total Rewards, you will lead hands-on payroll and benefits operations, with primary responsibility for reviewing and approving U.S. payroll, administering benefits programs, and maintaining accurate employee and carrier data. You will oversee annual open enrollment, benefits rates, carrier feeds, audit readiness, and Rippling administration. Working closely with HR, Finance, brokers, and benefits providers, you will resolve complex operational issues, strengthen controls, and improve processes that support a consistent employee experience.

Your Day to Day at Sagent:

  • Review and approve U.S. payroll before submission, validating payroll changes, deductions, adjustments, and reconciliations; partner with payroll processors and Finance to resolve discrepancies and meet processing deadlines.
  • Oversee benefits administration, including rate updates, employee contribution schedules, and accurate payroll deductions.
  • Manage eligibility and enrollment feeds to Allstate, Lincoln, and other benefits carriers, monitoring file delivery, troubleshooting errors, and reconciling coverage and billing records.
  • Lead annual open enrollment, including vendor coordination, Rippling configuration, employee communications, election validation, and post-enrollment reconciliation.
  • Oversee payroll and benefits updates for new hires, terminations, and other employee status changes, ensuring timely processing and accurate records across Rippling and carrier systems.
  • Maintain Rippling workflows, reporting, data quality, and appropriate access controls; identify opportunities to automate recurring tasks and improve service delivery.
  • Lead payroll and benefits audit preparation, coordinate documentation requests, maintain audit trails, and track remediation of findings.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex payroll and benefits issues, manage provider relationships, and strengthen documented procedures and operational controls.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
  • Progressive experience in total rewards, benefits, or payroll operations, including senior-level ownership of complex processes and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience reviewing and approving U.S. payroll, including validating deductions, adjustments, and reconciliations and resolving processing exceptions.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Rippling, including payroll and benefits administration, workflows, reporting, and data management.
  • Experience administering benefits rates and employee contributions and leading annual open enrollment from planning through reconciliation.
  • Experience managing benefits carrier feeds, eligibility records, and billing reconciliations; direct experience with Allstate, Lincoln, or comparable providers is preferred.
  • Experience managing payroll and benefits changes for new hires, terminations, and other employee status changes.
  • Experience supporting payroll or benefits audits and maintaining documented procedures, approval controls, and audit-ready records.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment when handling confidential employee information.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate vendors, communicate clearly, and partner effectively with HR, Finance, and external providers.
  • Experience coordinating India payroll with local teams or service providers is a plus, but is not required.
