The Senior Manager, Security Operations - Mexico City and LATAM leads physical security operations for Mexico City and provides regional leadership across LATAM. This role manages and mentors security professionals, establishes operational priorities, and ensures that local and regional programs align with Salesforce global security standards, business needs, and the evolving risk environment.

The role is responsible for the consistent execution of site security, emergency response, event security, executive protection support, workplace violence prevention, investigations, vendor management, and regional risk-mitigation programs. Success requires strong people leadership, sound judgment under pressure, disciplined planning, and the ability to build trusted partnerships across a complex multinational organization.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Regional Leadership and Team Management

Lead, coach, and mentor high-performing security professionals located in Mexico City and across the LATAM region.

Set clear short- and long-term operational objectives; coordinate resources and hold internal teams and service providers accountable for results.

Create an environment in which employees feel safe and confident in the organization's ability to protect them.

Deliver results through teamwork and champion Salesforce values, with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Physical Security Operations

Serve as the Physical Security Operations subject-matter expert for the assigned Area of Responsibility (AoR).

Implement and enforce operations consistent with global security standards while adapting procedures to local laws, risks, and site requirements.

Oversee critical physical security programs, including access control, CCTV and alarm monitoring, guard force staffing, site patrols, asset protection, and facility vulnerability management.

Ensure security documentation, site procedures, post orders, emergency plans, and operating protocols are current, practical, and consistently followed.

Emergency Response and Crisis Management

Lead the execution of Security Operations emergency response plans and provide calm, decisive leadership during high-stress incidents.

Coordinate the response to security, safety, and medical emergencies in partnership with the Global Operations Center (GOCenter), Health & Safety, Resilience, site leadership, and local responders.

Plan, schedule, and lead tabletop exercises, live drills, and after-action reviews; track corrective actions through completion.

Ensure incidents are documented promptly and accurately through designated reporting channels to support analysis, escalation, and risk reduction.

Event Security and Executive Protection

Plan, direct, and drive security operations for small- to medium-sized regional and campus events, and support large public-facing events when required.

Develop and implement security plans for public and private corporate events, including staffing, access control, emergency response, and stakeholder communications.

Coordinate executive protection protocols and support for executives, VIPs, and other high-profile visitors traveling to Mexico and the LATAM region.

Provide operational guidance for secure movements, escorts, and special-event requirements in coordination with internal and external partners.

Risk Management, Investigations, and Workplace Violence Prevention

Monitor and assess local and regional risks, including civil unrest, protests, crime trends, and other threats that may affect employees, facilities, events, or business continuity.

Use open-source information, internal reporting, and trusted external relationships to identify emerging concerns and activate appropriate security protocols.

Assist with or lead preliminary investigations of security incidents within the assigned AoR, preserving confidentiality and coordinating with appropriate partners.

Support workplace violence prevention through proactive intelligence collection, policy implementation, case coordination, and partnership with Employee Relations, Legal, Human Resources, and other stakeholders.

Business Operations, Vendors, and Performance

Support management of the regional security budget, contracts, resources, and vendor relationships.

Oversee guard force and other security service providers, including performance expectations, staffing, training, compliance, and issue resolution.

Lead quarterly business reviews, establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and use operational metrics to improve quality, consistency, and efficiency.

Identify opportunities to strengthen regional operations through technology, process improvement, standardization, and data-informed decision-making.

Partnerships and Communication

Develop and maintain effective relationships with Real Estate & Workplace Services, Health & Safety, Resilience, Executive Leadership, functional business teams, and regional and site leaders.

Maintain strong coordination with the GOCenter and local leadership before, during, and after significant incidents or events.

Build productive relationships with federal, state, and local law enforcement, emergency services, security industry partners, and other relevant agencies.

Communicate complex risks and recommendations clearly through executive briefings, presentations, written reports, research, and analysis.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate security, law enforcement, military service, intelligence, emergency management, or closely related public- or private-sector roles.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and programs with responsibility for operations, training, vendor performance, and budget management.
  • Professional fluency in Spanish and English, including written, spoken, and comprehension skills.
  • Strong knowledge of physical security operations, emergency response, event security, investigations, workplace violence prevention, and asset protection.
  • Ability to make sound decisions, communicate effectively, and provide visible leadership during high-stress situations.
  • Exceptional presentation, writing, research, analytical, interpersonal, and de-escalation skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Mexico City, travel within the LATAM region, and to the United States as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience leading security operations in a fast-paced multinational corporate environment.
  • Law enforcement and/or military experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with executive protection, threat and risk assessment, open-source intelligence, crisis management, and major-event security.
  • Working knowledge of access control systems, video surveillance, incident-management platforms, Google Workspace, Slack, and related enterprise collaboration tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using AI tools to build, enhance, and scale security operations, including workflow automation, data analysis, situational awareness, and operational decision support.
  • Relevant professional certifications or formal training in security management, investigations, emergency response, first aid, CPR/AED, or executive protection.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and its business solutions.
