Assistant Chef

Furzehatt Residential and Nursing Home, 59 Furzehatt Road, Plymstock, Plymouth, Devon

£13.96 per hour

Flexible contract options available: 20 or 40 hours per week

Choose from a full-time 40-hour contract or one of two 20-hour contracts, with set shift patterns so you can plan your time in advance.

You'll work 7am to 6pm, with no split shifts or late nights. Alternate weekend working is required.

Experience in cooking & working alone are Essential. Will need to have experience of staff supervision and kitchen management and must enjoy a "homestyle" cooking approach.

Are you our next Assistant Chef? Here’s more about the role:

• We are looking for an Assistant Chef who will work with the Chef Manager, to prepare a varied set of quality menus for our residents
• You will promote and monitor food hygiene and safety standards, carry out risk assessments and clean the kitchen to a high standard
• You will have daily interaction with residents, visitors and colleagues; therefore we are looking for someone who is friendly, approachable and passionate
• Experience of working within a catering environment and a valid food hygiene certificate is required.
