Sandvik Mining & Rock, the leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry, currently has 1 opening forLead, Freight on our 1st shift at 8:30AM.
As a Lead, Freight you will be responsible for providing safe, cost-effective global transportation services across all service modes. Management and continuous improvement of transportation providers to reduce costs and improve service.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Conduct monthly carrier performance analysis and review
- Assist in carrier sourcing, selection and execution planning
- Develop and/or support cost savings initiatives in conjunction with logistics operations
- Liaison between carrier and operations for issue resolution
- Process creation and implementation
- Review of international documentation as needed
- Support full scope of carrier implementations for TMS
- Resolve global transportation issues with carriers and brokers
- Alignment with regional/global teams on improvement initiatives
- Freight invoice audit and invoice dispute management
Experience and Required Competencies
5 -7 years’ experience in a Global Supply Chain Environment with a strong focus on transportation.
EDUCATION, LICENCES & CERTIFICATES
Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally in a business or supply chain discipline.
OTHER:
- English Proficiency: Advanced (CEFR C1/ Completed EF level 12)
- Ability to travel regionally if required
- KPI’s: Freight cost management, On-time delivery performance, Customer services fill rates, Delivery quality, Customer Satisfaction, Cost efficiency
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience in Blue Yonder TMS/WMS and SAP preferred
KEY STAKEHOLDERS:
- Internal: Parts and Services BLMs, Parts and Service functions in Parts and Services, Regional Logistics Operation Managers, Global Inventory Management Teams, IT organization,
- External contacts: Service providers: Carriers, Customs brokers, Vendors, Infrastructure providers

Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $75,000-$90,000 dependent on experience.
