Sandvik is a Swedish multinational engineering company headquartered in Stockholm and founded in 1862. The group manufactures equipment and tools for mining and rock excavation, rock processing, and metal cutting, including automation and electrification technologies. With a global presence in over 150 countries and a workforce of approximately 42,000 people, the company is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm and serves the manufacturing, mining, and infrastructure industries.

Cimatron has established a software license compliance program, developed with the support of an external consultant. The License Compliance Manager is now responsible for owning this program and driving its global rollout - determining which regions to prioritize, sequencing deployment, and ensuring the program operates effectively and consistently across all activated markets.

The role combines strategic judgment on where and how to deploy the program with hands-on operational ownership - managing active compliance cases, coordinating with Sales and Legal, and continuously refining the program based on regional learnings. The License Compliance Manager acts as a trusted advisor to Cimatron’s commercial and legal leadership, balancing enforcement effectiveness with commercial relationship considerations.

This is a fully remote role, offering flexible working arrangements for candidates based across Europe.

Who we are

Cimatron helps mold makers build tooling, regardless of complexity and size, with an integrated CAD/CAM solution for mold and die design and manufacturing. It offers a wide range of specific design and application tools, as well as a comprehensive set of NC technologies, ranging from 2.5-axis milling and drilling to complex 5-axis machining. Our products and services are designed to enhance the efficiency and productivity of our clients worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

Global Rollout Strategy and Regional Prioritization

  • Support in rolling out the established license compliance program and define the global rollout strategy, determining which regions to activate, in what sequence, and at what pace.
  • Assess each region against key criteria including piracy exposure, market maturity, legal enforceability, and commercial sensitivity - to build a prioritized and evidence-based deployment roadmap.
  • Adapt the core program frameworks and enforcement protocols to reflect local legal environments, business practices, and regional Sales Team needs before activating each market.
  • Support the broader Intelligent Manufacturing License Compliance community by sharing regional learnings, best practices, and program insights across business units.

Program Ownership and Case Management

  • Own and operate the license compliance program end-to-end across all activated regions, managing the full pipeline of cases from identification through to resolution.
  • Investigate suspected software piracy and unauthorized use of Cimatron products, applying established workflows and escalation paths consistently across markets.
  • Execute enforcement strategies in each activated region, determining the appropriate mix of self-service recovery tools, direct engagement, and external enforcement services.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the program’s tools, workflows, and case resolution standards, incorporating learnings from each regional deployment.
  • Monitor market trends in software piracy and IP enforcement globally, adjusting regional deployment strategies as the landscape evolves.

Regional Enablement and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with regional Sales Teams ahead of each market activation to align on enforcement approach, identify non-compliance hotspots, and implement corrective strategies.
  • Design and deliver training programs for regional Sales, Customer Success, and Operations teams to embed compliance awareness and equip them to identify and surface non-compliance signals.
  • Partner with the BA General Counsel and external legal counsel to coordinate legal actions, manage lawsuits, negotiate settlements, and handle fee discussions in each active region.
  • Maintain productive relationships with channel partners and resellers across regions to ensure awareness and adherence to Cimatron’s licensing terms.

Reporting and Leadership Communication

  • Deliver regular rollout progress updates and compliance performance dashboards to the Cimatron General Manager, regional Sales leadership, and the BA General Counsel.
  • Clearly communicate regional deployment decisions, compliance risks, case pipeline status, and enforcement trade-offs to senior leadership, supporting informed decision-making on program investment and scope.

Key deliverables and KPIs:

  • Number of compliance cases initiated, progressed, and resolved across activated regions.
  • Revenue recovered through compliance enforcement activities by region.
  • Conversion rate of non-compliant users to licensed customers.

Qualifications and skills:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree or legal qualification is preferred. Relevant fields include Business Administration, Law, Computer Science, or Engineering.

Experience:

  • 5-8 years of experience in software license compliance, intellectual property enforcement, or a closely related field within a software or technology company.
  • Demonstrated experience deploying or scaling compliance, operational, or go-to-market programs across multiple geographies, including managing regional prioritization and sequencing decisions.
  • Proven track record managing compliance enforcement cases end-to-end, including legal coordination, settlement negotiation, and recovery activities.
  • Experience working alongside regional Sales organizations to embed compliance activities and translate enforcement outcomes into commercial results.
  • Experience in the manufacturing software, CAD/CAM, or engineering technology sector is a distinct advantage.
  • Familiarity with software licensing models (perpetual, subscription, floating, network licenses) and their enforcement implications across different legal jurisdictions.

Knowledge:

Knowledge of intellectual property law and software copyright principles across multiple jurisdictions; familiarity with CRM platforms, customer databases, order entry portals, and license tracking or audit tools.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills, regional performance analysis, and compliance reporting.
  • Familiarity with case management platforms and compliance tracking tools.
  • Strategic judgment and execution focus - able to make and defend prioritization decisions with incomplete information and then deliver on them operationally.

  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, capable of building trust with regional Sales Teams and engaging effectively across legal, commercial, and senior leadership functions.
  • High cross-cultural awareness and adaptability, with the ability to navigate different business environments and legal contexts across global markets.
