Buffalo Tungsten has been a leading manufacturer and global supplier of high purity tungsten powder. We have a strong commitment to quality assurance, competitive pricing, and short lead times. Because of our rigorous quality assurance system, the powders we produce meet the highest standards of purity and consistency. We have over three decades of experience and maintain a sole focus on producing powdered tungsten materials through a hydrogen reduction process. We have supplied customers in over 40 countries throughout the world. In addition to pure tungsten powder, we also produce tungsten carbide powder and tungsten carbide based thermal spray powders. Buffalo Tungsten is part of Sandvik group and organizationally belongs to the Powder Solutions division within the business area Sandvik Machining.

Supervise production operations to ensure maximum output in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Coordinate work assignments with production planners to secure output, maintain quality and efficiency, and deliver on established goals and KPIs. Drive the ‘Safety First’ culture by ensuring all established safety policies and procedures is as followed.

THIS IS A FULLY ONSITE 3RD SHIFT ROLE FROM 12:00AM-8:30AM SUNDAY NIGHTS TO FRIDAY MORNINGS.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Always adheres to established safety policies and procedures

  • Maintain safe, clean, and organized working environment by educating and directing staff

  • Model effective leadership, teamwork, and collaboration in a fair and transparent way

  • Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning staff, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, implementing corrective action when needed, and reporting results to various stakeholders on shift production summaries

  • Establish and enforce production standards to support established goals and KPIs

  • Ensure that accurate production records are documented and archived

  • Facilitate communication and coordination between shifts and departments

  • Motivate employees and hold them accountable to established goals and KPIs

  • Manage employee performance through progressive discipline processes

  • Understand and communicate employee needs to management

  • Understand and communicate company requirements to employees

  • Review time and attendance records for accuracy and approve payroll on a weekly basis

  • Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and develop new and existing employees

  • Schedule regular Production meetings to review production & safety procedures with staff

  • Conduct employee performance evaluations

Required Competencies:

Education/Experience/ Language

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ prior supervisory experience

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently

  • Must be flexible to support occasional special projects and situations

  • Must be available on call to handle staffing issues with shift changeovers
