Sanofi is a French pharmaceutical company formed in 1973 and assembled over five decades through a long series of mergers including Synthelabo, Aventis and Genzyme. It is now built around immunology and rare disease, with Dupixent for atopic dermatitis and asthma as by far its largest product, alongside a substantial vaccines division covering influenza, meningitis and the respiratory syncytial virus antibody Beyfortus. Headquartered in Paris, the group has sharpened its focus in recent years by separating its consumer healthcare business into the standalone company Opella and directing research spending toward biologics and immune science.

Le contenu du poste est libellé en anglais car il nécessite de nombreuses interactions avec nos filiales à l’international, l'anglais étant la langue de travail.

Job Title: Accelerator - Product Owner Platform Engineering

  • Location: Paris
  • Hybrid Work - 60% office based, 40% remote
  • Job type: Permanent, Full time

Our Team

In a nutshell, a Platform team is a team that creates the foundational layers and core building blocks of a company's products.

Our customers are the Sanofi Software engineering teams. As such, we reduce their Cognitive Load and help them Improve Development Speed by providing them with Plug n Play Solutions that enable them to efficiently and securely build business features.

More concretely a platform can be at different levels of granularity:

  • CI configs and rules to be used by other teams
  • IaC, tooling to deploy and monitor resources in the Cloud
  • Development environment, tools and shared libraries
  • Help and can define global system architecture/security
  • Core abstractions (data model, business modeling) API/SDKs

About the job

This role goes beyond delivery management. You will shape strategy, drive discovery, and ensure our platform creates measurable impact for users, engineering teams, and the business.

As a Product Owner for the Platform team, you will lead the initiatives that reduce friction in the SDLC of the Engineering teams in Sanofi.

About Sanofi:

We’re an R&D-driven, AI-powered biopharma company committed to improving people’s lives and delivering compelling growth. Our deep understanding of the immune system - and innovative pipeline - enables us to invent medicines and vaccines that treat and protect millions of people around the world. Together, we chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives.

Own the Problem, Not Just the Backlog:

  • Define and frame product problems with stakeholders, users and developers
  • Frame opportunities using qualitative and quantitative insights - not assumptions or stakeholder pressure
  • Communicate in terms of problems to solve and outcomes to achieve, rather than predefined solutions to implement
  • Build and prioritise a Platform roadmap grounded in measurable outcomes, customer impact and strategic value, not urgency or opinion

Measure and Learn:

  • Define clear, measurable outcomes tied to user behaviour, product value, and platform adoption
  • Establish and monitor North Star metrics and leading indicators to guide decision-making and iteration
  • Use data to continuously evaluate product-market fit and user experience
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, evidence-based decisions, and continuous learning

Engage & Align Stakeholders:

  • Co-create and continuously refine product strategy in partnership with senior stakeholders and leadership
  • Use storytelling to align and rally people around problems and outcomes
  • Champion Developer Experience as a strategic priority
  • Drive adoption through strong stakeholder engagement and internal advocacy
  • Define adoption KPIs (usage, NPS, reduction in shadow IT, cycle time improvements, etc.)
  • Quantify customer (developer) satisfaction
  • Act as the strategic bridge between platform engineering team and platform users (developers, squads, pods)

Build Shared Understanding:

  • Lead collaborative discovery practices to build shared mental models (ex: story mapping, example mapping, 3 Amigos, design sessions)
  • Design and run experiments to validate hypotheses before committing engineering investment
  • Align teams and stakeholders around the "why" before jumping to "how"
  • Embed measurement as a key functionality in every feature
  • Ensure work is structured around measurable value creation rather than feature output or ticket volume

About you

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Product Owner / Product Manager in complex, regulated environments
  • Strong discovery mindset and evidence-based decision-making
  • Ability to influence diverse stakeholders, including executive audiences and align cross-functional teams
  • Experience working with Platform products and developer-facing services (DevOps, CI/CD, cloud, infrastructure enablement, APIs, microservices, Infrastructure as Code, developer tooling)
  • Proven track record driving platform adoption at scale
  • Strategic thinker who stays hands-on with teams
  • Skilled at balancing between delivery and discovery, between short-term needs and long-term vision
  • Nice to have: experience in life sciences, healthcare, or biotech

Languages:

  • Fluent in English as we are an international team!

Education:

  • Nice to have: Advanced Product Owner certifications: PSPO-II, PSPBM, PAL-EBM or equivalent

What makes this role unique?

This Product Owner role is perfect for software engineers who want to transition into product management while leveraging their technical expertise. You'll still be deeply involved in technical discussions, but your focus shifts from writing code to enabling others to write better code, faster.

Why choose us?

We provide a highly open and collaborative environment, with an opportunity to work with a world class team. You will be able to:

  • Learn what it takes to make a service with a truly global reach
  • Be part of an organization that values diversity, inclusion, and the richness of different backgrounds and experiences
  • Engage in meaningful work that combines the challenges of pharma, manufacturing, environmental matters and technical fields, offering abundant opportunities for professional growth and impact
  • Contribute to a company that is not only a leader in healthcare but also a pioneer in digital transformation, shaping the future of global health
