As Scalable Capital rapidly expands its product offering, we are setting up a fundamentally new, state-of-the-art Anti Financial Crime (AFC) platform. In this role, you will make critical, strategic decisions to lay the technical and architectural foundation for this greenfield ecosystem. This is a high-impact position with immense visibility: the platform is pivotal to Scalable Capital’s regulatory compliance and security posture, ensuring that every product and feature we launch is bulletproof against financial crime attack vectors.

You will collaborate closely with our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Anti Financial Crime (AFC) Operations teams. Taking functional ownership, you will be responsible for the developments of a dedicated engineering team primarily consisting of Data Engineers.

We encourage creative, proactive problem-solving: you will analyze potential attack vectors across Scalable’s platform and determine the most secure, efficient, and scalable methodologies to mitigate them. Rather than operating a legacy system, you will architect and build this platform from the beginning, acting as its overall owner. You will have access to cutting-edge technologies and a dedicated engineering team to address these complex challenges. In an era defined by AI and rapid tech acceleration, we are looking for a smart, creative problem solver who prioritizes execution speed alongside diligence to eliminate regulatory risks and automate workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Greenfield Tooling Development: Lead the functional definition and technical implementation of a brand-new, end-to-end Anti Financial Crime tooling ecosystem.
• Product Enablement & Security: Act as the dedicated Product Manager for Scalable’s Anti Financial Crime domain. Ensure that every new product launch and feature rollout is resilient and bulletproof against financial crime.
• Requirements Discovery & Synthesis: Work collaboratively with 2nd-line AML and AFC control functions to translate complex regulatory and threat-mitigation requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications, enabling the engineering team to execute seamlessly.
• Threat Prevention & Detection: Partner with AML and AFC departments to continuously model, prevent, and detect suspicious or unlawful activities across Scalable’s expanding platform.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with peer Product Managers across our Broker, Wealth, Credit, and Banking offerings to ensure seamless integration of AFC controls into all user journeys and product workflows.
• Technical Roadmap Ownership: Take full ownership of the AFC product roadmap and system architecture, working hand-in-hand with a large team of Engineers to design robust, scalable solutions on top of our data lake and newly built infrastructure.
• Execution Speed & Diligence: Drive end-to-end product delivery, from technical evaluation to production release, balancing high execution velocity with absolute accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
• Agile Milestone Management: Apply agile frameworks to drive development, shifting from rigid sprint commitments to milestone steering and prioritization to maintain adaptability under changing conditions.

• Product Management Experience: Solid background in product management, ideally with exposure to technical platforms, financial services, fintech, data engineering, or anti-financial crime and regulatory environments.
• Creativity, Agility and Domain Expertise: Prior experience in Anti-Money Laundering, Fraud Prevention, Data Engineering, or Regulatory Technology is highly beneficial, but not mandatory. In the age of AI, we value creativity, fast learning, and intelligent problem-solving over years of domain expertise.
• Technical & Analytical Affinity: Strong technical aptitude and analytical mindset required to collaborate effectively with a dedicated engineering team, understand complex data architectures, as well as machine learning and pattern detection basics.
• Diligence & Velocity: Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the proven ability to dissect complex financial crime frameworks into clear, step-by-step technical requirements while executing with high velocity.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to harmonize and align a diverse group of stakeholders across engineering, operations, product management, and regulatory control functions.
• Agile Mindset: Proficient with modern agile collaboration tools and comfortable navigating fast-paced, high-visibility task forces or firefighting environments.
• Language: Professional fluency in English; German is considered an advantage but is not mandatory.
