JOB SUMMARY

The Field and Events Manager is a high-impact role responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing Schellman's live and virtual events-including client events and industry conferences, along with internal sales and marketing event initiatives. In this role, you will own the end-to-end event strategy, ensuring every touchpoint reflects Schellman's brand and drives measurable outreach, pipeline, and engagement outcomes. As a driver in this role, you will oversee event execution and partner closely with Marketing, Sales, and external vendors to bring Schellman's presence to life in the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Strategy & Execution - Develop and implement an event strategy that supports Schellman's revenue, operational, and outreach objectives across trade shows, conferences, webinars, and client-facing events. This includes building and executing against a metric and analysis plan to measure impact, effectiveness, and return on investment.
  • Venue & Channel Evaluation - Gather and evaluate meeting or event requirements, researching and recommending venues or channels that meet the physical, functional, and brand requirements of each event.
  • Vendor Management - Build and maintain a reliable vendor network, negotiating and managing contracts for catering, promotional resources, AV/technology, and other event support services.
  • Logistics Coordination - Oversee all pre-event activities, including attendee registration, transportation, accommodations, meals, and technology setup, ensuring seamless execution from planning through onsite delivery.
  • Rehearsals & Technical Readiness - Conduct rehearsals and system checks of all equipment and connectivity to guarantee flawless execution of live and virtual events.
  • Budget Ownership - Manage event budgets, ensuring events stay within cost projections, and prepare periodic management reports on spend and performance.
  • Post-Event Analysis - Conduct post-event evaluations to assess effectiveness, gather insights, and drive continuous improvement in future event planning.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Subject Matter Experts to align event initiatives with broader go-to-market goals and ensure consistent messaging and branding.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated event strategy including ROI analysis, lead tracking, and building and measuring reportable metrics.
  • Proven Event Management Expertise - Track record of successfully planning and executing both live and virtual meetings/events, ideally within a professional services, technology, or B2B environment.
  • Vendor & Budget Management - Demonstrated experience negotiating vendor contracts and managing event budgets to stay within cost projections.
  • Detail-Oriented Execution - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent events, timelines, and logistics without sacrificing quality.
  • Technology Proficiency - Comfort with event management platforms, virtual event technology, registration systems, and standard office/collaboration tools.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset - Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and can adapt event strategy to evolving business needs.
  • Travel Readiness - Willingness to travel as needed to support onsite events and vendor relationships.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in event planning or management as an individual contributor
