Role Overview:

This is a Corporate EHS & Sustainability role responsible for driving EHS compliance across our CMO and third-party manufacturing sites under an asset-light business model. The role will manage external stakeholders, ensure regulatory and environmental compliance, and work closely with Pollution Control Boards and other government authorities for approvals, licenses and statutory requirements.

The role will also drive EHS audits, certifications, ESG initiatives and sustainability reporting, including knowledge of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. The ideal candidate should be strong in stakeholder management and capable of independently driving regulatory approvals, product-related licenses and compliance requirements across multiple external manufacturing partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive EHS compliance across CMO/third-party manufacturing sites under an asset-light business model.
  • Act as the corporate EHS SPOC for external manufacturing partners and ensure sites comply with applicable EHS, environmental and statutory requirements.
  • Conduct/coordinate EHS audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews of CMO sites and drive closure of identified gaps.
  • Liaise with Pollution Control Boards (CPCB/SPCB), State Government authorities and other regulatory bodies for approvals, inspections, notices and compliance matters.
  • Manage regulatory licenses and approvals, including product-specific/environmental licenses and Advance Licence-related requirements, as applicable.
  • Drive EHS certifications and external compliance certifications for the organization and manufacturing partners.
  • Develop and implement corporate EHS policies, standards, SOPs and compliance frameworks for CMO partners.
  • Investigate EHS incidents, identify root causes and ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented.
  • Drive waste management, hazardous waste compliance and environmental sustainability initiatives across partner sites.
  • Own/coordinate ESG and environmental data reporting, with knowledge of Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions.
  • Work with internal teams, CMO partners, consultants and regulatory authorities to ensure timely closure of compliance requirements.
  • Develop dashboards/MIS to track EHS compliance, licenses, audits, incidents, CAPA and sustainability metrics.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Looking for someone who has:

  • 6-12 + years of experience in EHS, Environmental Compliance, Corporate EHS or Sustainability.
  • Experience in chemicals / specialty chemicals / manufacturing / pharma / metals / chemical processing.
  • Strong experience managing external stakeholders and third-party/CMO manufacturing sites.
  • Good understanding of PCB regulations and dealings with CPCB/SPCB and state regulatory authorities.
  • Experience in environmental licenses, statutory approvals, audits and certifications.
  • Knowledge of ESG, sustainability and Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions.
  • Experience driving EHS compliance programs across multiple locations/sites.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in an asset-light / outsourced manufacturing model rather than only managing a single manufacturing plant.

Key Skills:

  • Corporate EHS & Environmental Compliance
  • CMO / Third-Party Site Management
  • CPCB / SPCB & Regulatory Liaison
  • Licenses, Approvals & Certifications
  • ESG & Scope 1, 2 & 3
