Responsibilities
Data Integration & Pipeline Development
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to ingest data into Celonis from multiple source systems, including ERP, CRM, relational databases, and APIs.
- Build and optimise ETL/ELT processes using Celonis Data Integration tools and external frameworks.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data across all pipelines.
- Implement validation checks, monitoring frameworks, and data quality controls.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, pipelines, and transformation logic.
- Support real-time or near-real-time data ingestion requirements where applicable.
Data Modelling & Transformation
- Develop and maintain Celonis data models, including Data Pools and Data Models.
- Implement complex data transformations using SQL and Celonis Process Query Language (PQL).
- Ensure all data models are scalable, performant, and aligned with evolving business requirements.
- Apply source code control and versioning best practices across all data assets.
- Configure and manage security settings at Data Pool and Data Model levels.
Performance Optimisation
- Monitor and optimise data load performance and query execution within the Celonis environment.
- Identify system bottlenecks and implement improvements to enhance overall efficiency.
- Apply best practices for indexing, partitioning, and data structuring to maximise platform performance.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner closely with Process Analysts, Data Analysts, and Business Stakeholders to understand and deliver on data requirements.
- Translate business requirements into practical, maintainable technical data solutions.
- Support the development of dashboards and analyses within Celonis Studio.
- Contribute to internal security, data protection, and data access governance initiatives.
Automation & Integration
- Integrate Celonis with external systems via APIs and automation tooling.
- Contribute to the automation of business processes using Celonis Action Flows.
- Support continuous improvement of data engineering workflows and delivery pipelines.
Experience and education
Required
- Proven hands-on experience with Celonis, including Data Integration, Data Models, Spark, and PQL.
- Strong SQL skills and practical experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
- Demonstrated experience working with APIs and data integration techniques, including REST and OData.
- Completion of relevant Celonis Academy courses, such as Data Engineer or EMS Developer certification.
- Solid understanding of process mining concepts and methodologies.
- Experience with scripting languages, particularly Python or Shell.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience working in cross-functional, agile team environments.
Advantageous
- Exposure to data governance frameworks and security best practices.
- Broad knowledge of Celonis EMS components, including Data Integration, Studio, and Action Flows.
- Industry experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or operations-intensive environments.
