If you want your infrastructure decisions to genuinely matter, this is the position for you. You will engineer the platform and delivery pipeline behind a real-time settlement system, where the recovery objective is measured in seconds and confirmed transactions can never be lost. Resilience isn’t an afterthought here; it is the core of the work. The role also goes beyond keeping systems running. You will play a key part in a wider DevSecOps maturity uplift, helping engineering teams raise their delivery, security and reliability standards. How you work matters as much as what you build, so this is an ideal opportunity for a senior engineer who enjoys setting the bar, mentoring through example, and leaving lasting improvements behind.
Responsibilities
- Own CI/CD pipelines end to end, covering build, test, security scanning, release and controlled promotion across environments
- Run and maintain Kubernetes workloads, managing GitOps-based deployments through ArgoCD
- Define and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, ensuring environments remain consistent and free of configuration drift
- Build comprehensive observability across logs, metrics and traces, establishing meaningful SLIs, SLOs and actionable alerting
- Design for resilience, including autoscaling, backup and restore, and disaster recovery aligned to a recovery time objective measured in seconds
- Implement cloud security foundations within AWS, including IAM, secrets management and network segmentation
- Participate in the on-call rotation, lead incident investigations and run blameless postmortems
- Drive continuous reduction in time to restore service through root cause analysis and preventative improvements
- Support DORA metrics measurement across deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate and time to restore service
- Contribute to the DevSecOps maturity assessment and help deliver the improvement roadmap that follows
- Champion DevOps best practice across engineering teams, sharing knowledge and raising delivery standards
